Superficial, but WHAT AN IDIOT
I mean WTF is this guy doing? Clinton got away with the hair color changes (gray when speaking to seniors, colored with youngsters, etc..) as well as other BS, but damn! I mean have some pride you fool. Don't you think any self respecting guy would be like "bull****, I'm not getting sprayed with that crap" or something along those lines. What do they think they're doing, running for prom king? Like I said, this is trivial, but what a tool.

Is his face orange?
|
He had better not start sweating at the debates. :D (would give a whole new meaning to running for president.) ;)
|
Obviously got the soul-glo spray job. Maybe I'm just tired but it awes me that a guy running for President wants to look like this in the debates. I'm not even laughing, I'm embarassed for him, really.
|
I want to know what the yellow bracelet is about. And yeah, where'd the tan come from? Last week he had no voice (as he did the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that...). This week he looks like a poster boy for Viagra.
At the LA Times (yes, fraught with conservatives - really), there was a term for a guy like Kerry. "Man in the empty suit." |
The bracelet is the Lance Armstrong thing.
Is that a diamond engagement ring he's wearing??? |

Does this really come as a surprise to you guys? I mean, Kerry's doing the botox injection thing, that pretty much lead me to assume he's a pretty hardcore metrosexual. He probably rubs pickles and avocado skin all over his face before he gets the spray-tan too.

Hey, come on he's just getting in form for the debates. Bush will look tired and pale from his demanding schedule while Kerry in contrast will look vital, tanned and rested. Kerry has obviously studied his history and learning a great lesson from the Nixon/Kennedy debate. Hey, it just kind of occured to me that Kerry is looking more and more like Dr. Gene Scott, you know that TV envangelist out of Glendale.

I wonder how many coats of spray tan it took to cover up his undertaker complexion?
|
Right you are. It is odd indeed, for a US Presidential candidate to primp or otherwise focus on appearance and perception.

Not that it's unusual for makeup to be used, but holy smokes, who was in charge of that makeover!?!
|
That's my point. That cannot be what they were going for. Sure give the guy a lil color but this? Once again I know this is incredibly trivial, but damn. If I were him I'se be pissed.
|
He voted for suntans before he voted against them. :D
|
Perhaps my computer screen colors are goofy. He looks a little on the tanned side to me, perhaps slightly orange. But not unlike other pics of him I've been seeing. Ah well, continue your discussion, whether it's about the narcissism of American presidential candidates or something else.
|
This thread ROCKS! It's the best political thread I've seen heer at the Pelican OT Dungeon!
The against/for cancer and suntan comments are just icing on the cake! His picture reminds me of an 80's movie - can't remember the title: it was about a white guy who painted himself black to win a black scholarship to a school - anyone remember the title?!? -Z. |

d'ya think he's going for the black vote? LOL . . .he is soooo in-touch. His future's so bright, he ought to wear shades. |
It's for people who notice these things.
They make their decision on which leader-of-a-world-superpower to vote for based upon that. |
didn't know the debates had a swimsuit competition.
Dan Quayle must be loving this. :D |
XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX TUE SEPT 28, 2004 09:23:25 ET XXXXX
KERRY ON ORANGE ALERT: SKIN TRANSITION ON EVE OF DEBATE Just days before Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry is set to take the stage in a debate opener projected to be seen by 70 million, photos show the senator dramatically taking on color. Is it the late September Wisconsin sun during debate prep that has turned Kerry's face to rich pumpkin-colored hues? Or has he been campaigning in the rust-belt? Kerry advisers defend the sudden deep tan transition, noting how it simply was from a game of flag football last Friday in Bedford, Mass. |

Remember Nixon/Kennedy? Man, he sweated like a linebacker in South Bend on a humid Saturday. And how about Gore's '00 prissy little girl sighs during that debate. Many have suggested those theatrics did his campaign in - or at least made it less effective. As for Kerry, lose the wristband and lay off the betacarotene... |
Maybe he wouldn't need the botox if he laid off the formaldehyde.

The dude looks like an Oompa Loompa.

Besides this buffoon, how many men in their 60's use tan in a can? This guy's so fake he makes Pam Anderson's boobs look real.
|
Soul Man... now that was a great flick... LOL.
This is offically the first political thread I have commented on here but I just couldn't resist. I think he is trying to make a pitch for the Baywatch vote. John "Hasselhoff" Kerry. Just don't do the red swim trunks too, PLEASE. |
I work with a guy who tried that tan in a can. He ended up looking like a character from "Vegetales." :D

Germans LOVE David Hasselhoff!

Usually U have to get elected before everybody starts calling you a fool!

Z, that's great. Can I use it on my site? It's your original work right? Hillarious!
|
All the candidates wear tons of makeup and have their hair coiffed before TV appearances, what's the difference here?
Note the color difference in his temples, top of the head, and his eyebrows, which are totally brown. Nice shade of pink on the lips, don't you think? Our politicians are little trollops. http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/860000..._makeup300.jpg |
Well, if cute little "I voted for XXXX, before I voted against it" remarks are what make a top notch political discussion, then that answers some questions I have been asking. As I've said, our presidential campaigns are a cross between the Jerry Springer Show, and the Miss America Pageant. Sadly, I think most Americans can get as much out of the debates with the sound turned off, as they will with the sound on.
|
O Soupy Sails, do not despair. The actual issues will indeed come out in the debates. The problem is that your guy has no center or core. It doesn't matter what he says anymore, people just don't believe in him. Couple that with the growing Conservative base in America and it spells defeat. It really is something how Bush hung his nuts out over the chopping block for 4 straight years and has yet to have em lopped off. He does what he feels is right, damn the consequences. People respect that, myself included.
|
I remember in "Soul Man" at the end of the movie, they show his college application and it indicates "White" for his race. He and the secretary at the school look at that and shrug and the next scene is slow and close up of her picking up a bottle of "White Out". Hilarious.
|
Some of the new rules for the debate are (from memory):
- Candidates cannot walk around the stage - No profile shot of one with opponent in background - Can have own make-up person (artist :D) - No family members shown in audience etc.... |
