Is a pen tangible? Anything ANY THING IN THE WORLD that could have come out of his pocket puts him in violation of the rules, which they agreed to. That's the bottom line. breaking the rules means cheating, and you can't get away from that. cheating is cheating. not blaming cheating on "winning" the debate, just pointing out that Kerry is a lying cheat, who has always been a lying cheat.

Bryan,

I feel really sorry for you if you are so upset that Kerry pulled a pen out of his pocket. Get a life.

LOL. Kerry cheated because he took a pen out of his pocket during the debate? That means Bush won right?

Oh MY GAWD! I pen is what flintstone is all in a lather about. Now that is lame. Now if Bush could write, he would have pulled a pen out of his pocket too!

Grasping for straws boys! you are just sore losers.

If it was a pen (looked like he unfolded a paper) then I couldn't care less as it was likely unintentional. If it was a cheatsheet then I care.

No it was not a pen. It was a White object tha looked like a paper. that he was tring to hide as he took it out of his pocket. Look at the Video.

Rules stated No Notes.

Do you really want a guy who with all the cameras there thought that no one would notice.

HERE Is THEVIDEO

That move alone proves he is not compentent to hold the job of leader of the Free World.

Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?

What did Kerry place on the podium?

The entire perception that Kerry won the debate is based on *weekend polls* and non-scientific website polls. We all know that polling on weekends gives a higher percentage of democrats than republicans. Furthermore, the polls were taken in cities like NYC, which is rampant with lefties--not in battleground states.

Cheating is cheating. We already know lefties can't play by the rules. The only rules that matter are the ones that they want to follow, right? It's okay to break the rules if it's for the common good? Sortof like how it's okay to forge documents if it's for the common good?

Bawlin? Pull your head out, I said if it was a pen I couldn't care less. If the guy needed a crib sheet then it's news.

it's the principal of the thing, really... When you set a rule down and someone deliberately breaks the rule, no matter how small, doesn't that say something? Pens were already on the desk. If he wanted a special pen, the directions were to give all materials to the debate staff to put on the podium before the event. Instead, it's a direct taunt. That's the only explination. I mean, Mr. Nuance would never miss a detail like a rule in a debate... he knows the rules, he was created for the purpose of debating.

Byran,

If it was a pen it is likely that he keeps one in his pocket by habit. I cannot imagine any malice here as there would be no advantage gained therefor it would not have been intentional.

Debate Coach Veterans for Truth pronounce Kerry ‘unfit for command’.

Charles Glumley who was seriously wounded in High School debate warm-up exercises described Kerry as “self-absorbed, requiring constant supervision. He has this secret pen which he used to brandish illegally in debates- an offence tantamount to treason”

Did he keep the pen, or did he throw it over the wall?

He threw the cap, but not the pen itself.

I heard that Kerry voted against cheating before he voted for it!

The video clearly show that he did pull something out of his suit pocket. Didn't look like a pen to me - more like a notepad or something. Perhaps it was the blank paper he was allowed to use. Perhaps it was the answers to the questions?!? I dunno.

If it was in violation of the rules of the debate, then something should be done.

My $0.42,
-Z.

With the stakes as big as they are. I don't think either party would do something against the rulez. I'm sure if the gov spends millions of dollars investigating (which they might). In the end they'll find out Kerry didn't break any rules.

This is typical of redneck republicans smear tactics. Its to muddy the issue, call names and create a uber scene out of nothing. They consider it a win if you muddy the waters, thus not giving the dems a win.

In the end when it turns out Kerry did no wrong. The repub rednecks figure they won because they diverted the issue from the MONKEY being so stupid back to Kerry and by the time this blows over, some stupid people will remember Kerry as a cheater.

Um, I don't know how you can call this a republican smear tactic. Kerry was essentially caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Kerry may have violated the debate rules. This is definately shown on tape.

Perhaps it was just a hanky to wipe his brow. If this is the case, I am certain he would have stated so by now.

Has nothing to do with smear tactics - Kerry did something peculiar, and people want to know what he took out of his pocket.

-Z.
