Standing In The Shadows of Motown

If you are a fan of the fabulous Funk Brothers you don't want to miss this documentary. First came out in 2002 and I just finished watching it. My personal highlights:

Bootsy Collins of Parlimentary Funk fame blasting out : "Do You Love Me?" definitely had me dancing around the room.

The Funk Brothers doing an instrumental version of "Bernadette." Not just an instrumental version, but an instrumental version with an electric bass lead! Blew me away. Nostatic (Todd) you have to listen to it. That bass was vibrating the room!

Finally Joan Osborne may have done the best interpretation of "What Becomes of The Brokenhearted" that I have ever heard. Just made you want to pour a glass of whiskey and sit around thinking of all those loves gone by.

Growing up in inner city Chicago as a kid in the late 60's this documentary brought back some memories for me.
