U.N. & France Fund WMDs - Why?

Why isn't this story the Page 1 Headline on every newspaper in the USA today and the lead story on all network news? OK, it's not exactly new, but it is verification of what many of us have believed for a long time. If you don't have time to read the article, let me summarize it:

The French are whores. The worst kind of whores. The End.

It wouldn't be such a big deal if 1000+ US soldiers hadn't died because their President was on the hunt for non existant WMD.

Its totally OK!

You see Saddam snubbed the UN 10 years ago. Today the republicans say the UN is worthless. So in essense Saddam and our rednecks are on the samepage finally.

Again, Saddam was ahead of his time here and now the repubs are copying him. Hell they can't even prosecute Saddam they have no valid evidence to charge him with. They have to create laws and make stuff up, then retroactive the stuff to try and kill Saddam before he talks too much about his secret dealings with Bush's daddy and DUMBSfield.

You'll notice one of the key differences between the Washington Times story and many others (including the actual report in question) is that it also implicates a dozen or so US people.

Plus, it is a list from Saddam - while I actually think it is true, I'm not sure why you guys believe it out of hand (guilty until proven innocent).

It never ceases to amaze me how people are willing to step up to the plate and defend Saddam Hussien in an attempt to advance their political views. You guys would apparently get along well with the French Socialist Party

Good point, we can't really take Saddams word at face value . ...EXCEPT for the actions of France (go along with what is sane, vote for the tough-talk, then stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, stall,

stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, .. ..

stall, (insert brief glimps of GW's middle finger directed at France, as he disappears from their game.)

I want more details, but the French position is looking pretty grim (it appears to involve govermnet) - just remember that corporation <> government, unless of course Halliburton = Goverment.

You can't have it both ways.

Plus, it just occured to me to wonder aloud if stopping the sanctions on Libya is such a good idea, given Saddam's main goal was to end sanctions so he could get on with proper WMD programmes.

This UN"SCAM" is bad, very bad. But it isn't a rationale for war - rather it is a rationale for working harder to monitor the UN.

Yeah - they are . Geez, imagine if you'd spent $120b on weapons inspections

I'm objecting to the pseudo flip-flop as to what constitues WMD.

$120b - how could we resist; it was a 'two-fer' (two for the price of one) we got to inpsect both Iraq & Lybia. (we may even get another bonus, or two out of the deal.)
