Wow, you guys really don't like Dave Matthews, huh?
I'd better keep my DMB CDs out of sight for a while... ;) LOL! |
Jimmy Buffett. No Buffett, no annoying Parrotheads.
Beatles are over-rated, they were good, groundbreaking, like Nirvana, but they got drilled into the ground. They more anachronistic these days than anything else. Maybe just more annoying. |
Winger. No wait, Poison. I'll let Warrant slide since they gave us the girl from the Cherry Pie video.
I had a hippy English teacher my senior year of high school that made us study and analyze the Beatles and Bob Dylan for the entire year. I wasn’t a fan of either before then and I’m still not. I've never understood the impact they had on music, but I do accept and believe it. All I know about the Beatles or Bob Dylan is that a lot of the musicians I actually do like have said they were heavily influenced by them. That’s all I need to know. Seeing live video footage of Hendrix covering 'All Along the Watchtower' and 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band’ puts Dylan and The Beatles in a different perspective for me. |
David Clayton F*cking Thomas.
Guess Who. CCR is borderline. |
Whoever is responsible for this entire generation of non-talent poppy crap.
|
Michael Jackson, Village People, BaycityRollers,Kinks oh and that band with Jonny Rotton and Sid Vicious. Crap all of them:o
|
The Sex Pistols. Single artist would be Elvis.

Each and every so called artist that wears his belt buckle at his knees and has a ball cap in any orientation other than straight forward. Whoever started that fashion statement deserves punishment.
Boy, that makes me sound old. I'm betting that most folks here who do not appreciate the Beatles or their music were not around when it was happening. I was young but old enough to realize just how important to music they were. BTW, leave the Bay city rollers alone! ;) S A T U R,.... D A Y, NIGHT! rock on. I also think we could get along just fine without Barbra Streisand. |
William Shatner
You can close the thread now. No one can top that. JP, PM me and I'll send you my address for the prize. |
if you want to get rid of all that dreadful poprock from the late '80s through the 90s, ie Poison, warrant, Bonjovi just go to the source and deal with...
Def Leopard :p SmileWavy SmileWavy |
dude, Shatner has a new album out. Spoken word done with Ben Folds. And if you're into spoken word, it is pretty amazing. Some spooky stuff about his wife dying and whatnot.
|
john_colasante wins. There is nothing more worthless that shatner trying to do what ever it is he's trying to do.
No offense Todd, but I just don't get it. Must be way over my head. I am very pleased that we have a winner, and that no one had bashed the undisputed greatest band of all time, ABBA. Now that was music. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif |
I knew that my Beatle vote would not be popular but hey this is a very subjective topic. I happen to like Neil Diamond, not everything, but his Stones album is original and I still play it now and then. Just because the Beatles were wildly popular and I failed to recognize their "genious" doesn't make me wrong in this category. There is no wrong answer here as this is much like asking what's the best color for a 911. Subjective - though black is the correct answer there :D
Oh and country music. For years I hated the stuff, then I happened to marry a woman who loves rock and country, and I've grown to enjoy it. I still can't listen to the older honky tonk type country, or songs with tons of banjo, but I do have 2 country stations programmed on my car radio. As long as I continue to hate "elevator" music I know I'm still younger than my Dad! |
BTW, leave the Bay city rollers alone! ;)
S A T U R,.... D A Y, NIGHT! rock on. [/B][/QUOTE] Psst.....ya got a record I can buy? HEY, Hey,HEY! |

The Kinks?!? If anything, they are underappreciated.. The Sex Pistols? I have to disagree... As for me, Aerosmith, first part of their career they were ripping off the yardbirds, second part of their career, they were ripping off the McDonalds theme song. |

I have to agree here, it's actually pretty good. Plus you get to hear Shatner doing Pulp's Common People... Shatner succeeds in making it his own in my opinion, just because he's Shatner |
