I was only a 8 year old boy at the height of 1980s excess. The women he dated back then were astonishing. The thing I have respect for the most though was the fact he always left them crying.

An excellent choice. For mine, Paganini. The Robert Johnson legend originated with Paganini, who was said to have sold his soul to the devil for his outrageous talent....ofcourse, no recordings exist (died 1840) and it took generations to unravel his technique. What Paganini could have done with electricity....
If anyone remembers the crap movie Crossroads...a nice nod to the legend is the headcutting piece at the end between the Kid (Arlen Roth?) and The Devils Guitar Player - is Paganini's 5 Caprice. Otherwise- JOHN HENRY BONHAM. |

Do you want him to be the same? Should he be the same guy now he was in his 20's? I have seen him 6 times most recently in May. He was fantastic. As was Jake, the Bigman's nephew. Was he the same? No, but can clearly play the hell out of the horn.

Jason Becker.
Yes, I know, he's not dead yet, but ALS had destroyed his body sufficiently that he wasn't able to go on the first big tour he was scheduled for.... It would have been interesting to see his virtuosity develop. |

![]() Oh man, sure Mozart, Paganini, Bach, Beethoven, etc. But Robert Johnson!!!! Imagine what he could do with electricity! Or Blind Lemon or any of those cool old dudes! Maybe not necessarily electric guitars (I'm listening to Leo Kottke as I type this) but modern recording.

As a drummer, I have to go with:
Moonie Bonzo Rich Krupa And most recently. Ed Shaughnessy. I've used his signature stick by Pro-Mark since they came out. His dueling with Buddy Rich on the Tonight Show is legendary and some of the best drumming you'll hear or see anywhere. Carter |

I believe Metallica pretty much died after the St Anger album......So my vote would be to bring back to life the "Master of Puppets" era band!!! That counts right?
