Range DOA - need new oven
My Magic Chef oven is no longer working. The computer is shot. Repairman says the part is $200 plus a service call ($53) plus another $20 for labor. The range is 14 years old.
I want to go with a restaurant quality, all stainless range - Vulcan or Wolf or American Range - with the 20,000 BTU top burners and 35,000 BTU oven burners. These can be had for around $1,000-$1,300. These ranges don't have any of the computer, digital clock, timed on-off features, but who uses that stuff anyway? Anyone had any experience with this type of set up. |

Do you mean a "professional range?" A 36" Wolf with the red knobs is about $4000, and you must use a professional hood. |
The ones I'm looking at are stainless with large burners. I'm not sure what the difference is between the $1,300 ranges and the $3,000-4,000 models.
The Maytags and Magic Chefs and Home Depot/Sears models are $400-$500. I thought I'd spend more and get the better quality. Something like this: |
