Face it - liberal is a centre sort of thing.
na . ."Liberal" is a word. Obviously means something different over there. Just as the word "driver-side" is completly backward, down-under there. |
As well as the connotations for "animal lover".

Well in the rest of the civilized world, Liberals are always in the center, the Socialists on the left and the Conservatives on the right.
|
Serge,
Here in the States, the Liberals ARE the Socialists! :( Randy |
I think that's the point - by an objective measure against socialist goals, objectives and beliefs, your Democrat party is approximately centre - possibly left although I suspect as compared to socialism proper, it still ranks right of centre.

The majority here seem to believe that Kerry is a liberal. OK, I'm a patriot and I agree with that statement.
For one moment let's consider republican Ted Stevens, AK. Would you consider him to be a liberal, or conservative, or quite possibly a welfare republican? One last question for our true conservatives, do you believe the American tax payer should subsidize childbirth? Botox injections and liposuction? My vote goes to Kerry because when it mattered he was there fighting with us and not punching keys for some fat hog farmer in Alabama. |
When it mattered...Kerry was as close to being a traitor as you can be without being locked up...Probably the only reason he was not tried for treason was the political climate of the country at the time.
|
Somebody explain to me what he did that could be considered treason? Try not to yell and spew B.S. Keep it fact based.
|
While we were at war...as a private citizen, John Kerry travelled to a foreign country andmet with the representatives of our enemy and then went to our government and worked on their behalf to negotiate a US withdrawal favorable to the enemy and not the US. The agreement ultimately resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of our allies and the enemy failing to account for all our POWs/MIAs.
|
To hear you guys tell it, John Kerry was at least as powerful as the President, and that was when he was only 27.

Exactly! When Nixion is asking (on tape) "who is this Kerry?" . ..yeah, he had some power.
His campaign; kerry is obviously remembering those good old days; full of power. Think about the whole "reporting for duty". It was his code for "you cant touch me. . . I'm a war hero." Then, just as with Vietnam, kerry breaks out what worked then; "wrong war, wrong place, wrong time" Like I've said, he is a one-hit-wonder. He just is recycling his rhetoric, not because it's true, but because he can get attention with it. |
