Debate Senator Kerry "I have a plan!" |
|
 plan, plan, plan, plan |
|
Don't bother me...I'm watching a ball game...Oh, vote? Gee, my mind was made up months ago...the day Kerry announced he was running. |
|
Kerry: "Thank you for that excellent question. However, I'd prefer to read from my prepared script. Now then..." |

Kerry: "Thank you for that excellent question. However, I'd prefer to read from my prepared script. Now then..." An allegation more correctly laid against both candidates :D |

I can't watch the debates because when I watch W answer questions off the cuff, I get the same uncomfortable feeling as when I'm watching the Miss Universe contest during the "question phase". I just feel embarassed for him and get an uneasy feeling that something incredibly stupid is going to come out of his mouth. I'm conservative and vote party lines but W is just plain awful in this unscripted Q and A format. |

I confess that I'm disappointed in Bush for not hitting any of Kerry's hanging curveballs. When everyone in the room is screaming at the easy comebacks to Kerry's rhetoric, and yet W can't see the opening. *sigh* :( |

OMG - did you hear Kerry say that he "created" the surplus in the 90s so that they could fix Medicare? The guy doesn't even have a real job, and yet as 1/100th of the Senate, he's claiming credit for a federal budget surplus. Just when I was almost starting to like him after the 1st 2 debates.... |
|
I like the part where he said that .....as a prosecutor..he had stopped organized crime. |
|
Is it just me, but are Bush and Kerry wearing the same suit and tie? |
|
oh, man, missed most of it. . . I just got in, and only caught the last few Q's. Well .. .The word is that the woman voter is the one waiting for GW to "be sensitive" . . show that he can cop to 'mistakes' (screwing thinking, I know:cool: ) If that is the case, GW dunked it. |
|
Well if being smug counts then give it to George Bush. George Bush still will not answer the abortion question, if you think John Kerry puts a spin on things, man Bush was spin city. |

...and neglected to mention 800,000 were from increasing the size of the Federal payroll... ? |

No question, Bush won. He kept Kerry on the defensive and exposed his poor (and liberal) senate record. I believe Kerry's tactic of bringing up Cheney's daughter will hurt him because it shows a bit of insensitivity. Bush's answer on that question is the same as mine, I really don't know and I have several gay friends. They don't really know either. |

I only caught the last 45 minutes or so, my impression is that Kerry did a lot better than Bush |

Kerry won again. You'll see it in the polls tomorrow. And then some here will decide the polls are 'liberal.' |

I just cannot vote for someone who will never admit to making a mistake, we all make mistakes, unless you are a computer or God. And that my friends is pretty scarry. |

I believe Kerry's tactic of bringing up Cheney's daughter will hurt him because it shows a bit of insensitivity. I dunno Christian - what I read (transcript - not as good as listening unfortunately) would be the type of thing that would strike a very strong cord with gay people or those empathetic to equal rights in this area. Mind you - they're probably already all voting for Kerry. I found all the faith stuff interesting - Kerry pushed the right buttons (for me - obviously not a conservative Christian) as a politician. Both of them scored a few points against each other - Bush probably hit a few more times but I think Kerry did a pretty good job at least getting some more of what he is about out, as well as "reinforcing" (I'm getting tired of the repetition) a few of Bush's shortcomings. Mind you, Bush was doing the same (repetition). So I reckon it was pretty even. They offer quite different philosophies on a lot of these issues, and a fair amount of "no you haven't", "yes I have" on their more common ground. As an early prediction, this thread should now degenerate into the latter two points from me (repetition, and "now you haven't, yes I have". ;) |
