VW Looking Funny

I don't know what is happening but it seems like VW is moving to the likes of Toyota and Honda and losing its special characteristics. This styling in my opinion is looking very cheap. Opinions??

I saw a few in Road and Track. I didn't care for the new front ends as well as the new taillights...

It may be aerodynamic as hell, but sooo many cars look like jelly bellies with wheels these days, none of them catch my eye.
