Kerry confirms why he didn't get my vote...

What an ass. He has no chance of winning Ohio, but refuses to concede. Despite the fact that Bush got more votes than any presidential candidate EVER, he will not allow a GOP celebration. The Dems lose more senate seats, Daschle is ousted and the GOP margin in the house widens. Yet America waits while Kerry broods.

Dear Mr. Kerry, Get over yourself. You lost to a weak candidate, a dyslexic Texan who brought our nation to war under false pretenses. That's how PATHETIC a candidate you are , John. You are so out of touch with this nation you thought you could win with a trial attorney on your ticket! He couldn't even deliver his home state.

If you have any pride or sense of personal dignity, you would have conceded the election before Americans headed for work this morning. Mr. Kerry, you not only lost the election, you are now officially a loser.

yeah, it is pathetic. I thought for awhile that ohio was going to be "too close to call", but as the numbers kept growing it was pretty obvious that the provisional ballots would have an incredibly small chance of swinging the vote. And given the fairly resounding popular vote, Kerry should step up and do the right thing.

Politicians suck.

The word was, just after midnight last night, that BigFatTeddyKennedy waddled into the Kerry home to confer. Moses, I completely agree with you, but I'm not sanguine about his doing the "right" thing here with counsel he's likely to get. He's a vain, effete douchebag -- whose hopes were sky-high b/c of the obviously manipulated exit polls -- that apparently believes he was destined for the Oval Office, that it's his birthright.

My opinion of Gore has soured considerably since he went off his meds a couple of years ago, but he had Fifteen minutes of Statesman in him when he delivered his concession speech. After pulling the country through the keyhole like that, he still made an eloquent, if too-temporary exit.

I don't believe Kerry's got it in him, and as there were no graybeards around 4 years ago to advise Gore to take the Gentleman's course, the more extreme Democratic party of today is unlikely to take (or have anyone to GIVE) such counsel.

The only sound louder than the whining this morning is the fat lady singing.

Senator (still) Kerry needs to take all of his 'plans' back to the Senate and try them there.

I, for one, would like to see what these 'plans' were!

Mr. Kerry has put enormous time and effort for several months. I can understand why it would be difficult to let go. With a small understanding of basic human nature, I have a hard time calling it pathetic, but.... It's pathetic.

You guys aren't sounding like winners at all.

Kerry wants to make a concession speech when people are awake in the left coast states that voted for him.

I hope you're right, but the Califoria commute is in full swing right now. Time is running out for Kerry to do the right thing.

I think he should confer with michael moron, babs, alec baldwin and osama bin laden. Then he should say what has been painfully obvious for some time now, that he & the Breck girl are gay lovers and will be leaving politics to take up leadership roles in act up & queer nation.

When has Kerry ever done the right thing, and why do you expect him to start now?

He's a major loser, he just can't face reality.

OK, I'll give him props. If he's going to concede (as is being reported now) this afternoon, good on him. I take back some of the things I wrote about him. I'm not saying which things.

It's really not close enough for him to Gore things up. As the man says, they can't cheat if it's not close.

The final outcome is NOT determined by whether or not Kerry conceeds.

It would be a eloquent thing for Kerry to do, but. . .

Z-
Absolutely correct. But, the final outcome isn't done done until the EC votes (which nobody pays attention to).

Kerry needs to address his minions in order for the "moving on" part to start. That's at least as important as the rather Mandarin task of having EC votes certified and "cast."

It figures....

(From the AP)

"One senior Democrat familiar with the discussions said Kerry's running mate, Sen. John Edwards (search), was suggesting to Kerry that he shouldn't concede.
The official said Edwards, a trial lawyer, wanted to make sure that all options were explored and Democrats pursued them as thoroughly as Republicans would if the positions were reversed."

Well Edwards is grasping at straws, he's unemployed; Kerry on the other hand has a job and the backing of the people of his state to continue that job.

CNN, USA Today, and Fox News are reporting that Kerry has officially conceded. I am not a Kerry supporter, but I sympathized with him for wanting to wait until it was mathematically impossible, after counting every single vote -- I mean, the man spent $100M on Ohio!! That's quite an investment.

Now he comes out and recognizes that, for the good of the country, it is better to concede as an honorable man, to save the embarassment to the nation of squabbling over individual legal issues and agonizing over every hanging chad. For this concession, I confess my respect.

Dan

What your're missing there tech, is that many of us share Moses's sentiments about not being FOR Bush. . . .just as you were ABB, many of us were ABK.

Hey, my vote went to a third-party guy who lost big, but I am VERY happy Kerry lost big enough. IMO, Kerry shouldn't even have gotten third, or forth place. I seriously believe he is delusional. .. and would have been completely ineffectual.

Bush could have done some things better, no argument there. But Bush does adapt to the world around him. .. we'll be okay.

Kerry just did the "right thing" and conceded. I'm glad he did it, now let's get on with life!

Gore's mistake was conceding too soon, then withdrawing it.

Good to see Kerry learned from that.
