Any converted "Steeler" fans yet?
Having lived in Pittsburgh all my life, I am a lifelong Steeler fan. It also seems that many cities have a lot of Steeler fans also. When the Steelers played Dallas a month ago, it actually sounded like a homegame on the radio. It seems they turn up in every city. Either there are a lot of transplants or other towns have adopted them. This year, it seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon, at least so far. I think there is much to like about the way the Steelers conduct business. Same family has owned it forever. Only 2 head coaches in the last 30 years. The only thing missing was a QB that could take it to the next level. I think that time has come.

It seems there are always a "Pittsburgh" or "Steelers" bar in just about every city that I have visited--Myrtle Beach, Charlotte, Ft. Myers, Baltimore(of all places), Dallas, etc. etc.
I think most are former yinzers who have moved elsewhere, but still have allegience to a quality football team. I too am a lifelong fan--stop by Gold 2 near the tent during the next home game and have a beer on me(I will have the orangish 79 Jeep Wagoneer).

YOU SONS A BEETCHES! DON'T YOU DARE POLLUTE THIS HALLOWED GROUND WITH YOUR RIDICULOUSNESS! I am sure there is a perfect reason why we lost that game yesterday ....it is just escaping me right now!
and FYI: Once we are out of it I always root for the Steelers (extended family there) which, in turn, causes a complete collapse for their season as well (I am cursed). Another thing, being a Miami Ohio Grad I KNEW we should have taken Roethlisburger. Unfortunately, on draft day my opinion in the war room didn't really count. Good luck here on out. Joe 68 L |

The Steelers ARE playing well right now and I salute them. However, they will once again get flattened in the playoffs by the Patriots as they steamroll towards a "three out of four" Superbowls and official dynasty status. The Steelers did NOT defeat a prime New England team two weeks ago and they can't. The coaching is inferior ("In Bill We Trust!") the defense is inferior (once our injured cornerbacks return) and there's NOBODY that can put up the points on offense when it counts better than Tom Brady or Adam Vinateri. Period.
I really do wish the Steelers luck in their quest for a Central Division championship, but it ends there. All it takes is a couple of injuries to see what kind of depth the Steelers have and I seriously doubt it's going to even remotely come close to what the Patriots can do. They have virtually no secondary left and are still 8-1! Let's see Pittsburgh do that! I look forward to facing the Steelers in the postseason - at Gillette, with Law, Poole, Branch, Vrabel, etc. all waiting and healthy. You want to get to the big dance? The road goes through Foxboro and the only team on that road past Foxboro will be wearing blue & white.

When I can be bothered to give a ****, I root for the Steelers. I was born in Pittsburgh and come from a family where both sides have history there. I remember watching the games at my Grandparents house, even in diapers.

Flattened and steamrolled? For a minute there I thought you were talking about the Patriots game against the Steelers. And games against the Rams defense and Buffalo don't count. Enjoy the Patriots while you can, their time is over.

P-O-P,
did you notice on Sunday when we beat the snot out of Cleveland with a TE for a FB, a back-up CB, a back-up LB, our (supposedly over-the hill RB), a back-up NT, and a rookie QB? I mean Hoke wasn't even drafted! and our 4th string RB had 30-40 yards I don't want to hear about inujuries being the reason the Patriots got whooped in Pittsburgh. The Pats just can't compete and johahn--

C'mon, any team that has a tough time beating Dallas, can't be a very good football team. I do like Ruthlessberger, he's a fine QB. Prediction: NFC will be back in the saddle again for another long Super Bowl win streak over the AFC.

Portland, Oregon doesn't have an NFL team. That's because if they had one, Seattle would want one too.

I think it's great that they resurrected the "Blitzburgh" defense. They are mighty fun to watch.
