Birth control pills for men...
Why aren't there any? Are there? Where can they be obtained? How much do they cost?
The only reason I ask is that it would be nice to have the control of birth, without having to wear a condom. Not that I don't trust my wife, but she does forget to take her pill sometimes. Not on purpose mind you, my wife forgets a lot of things, that's one of the things I love about her. I just know I wouldn't forget to take the pills if they were mine. BTW - Imagine the possibilities for single men everywhere: 1. No hat, no problem baby, I'm on the pill... 2. Well if we're not going to get married until time to have a baby, then I'll just stop taking my pills....OK, I'll just keep taking mine... 3. I'm pregnant...You should really discuss this with the father first... 4. I'd love to marry you baby, but I can't have children, and that just wouldn't be fair... Ahhh, the possibilities.....

I had a good friend one time who's girl told him she was on the pill so he didn't use a jimmy. Turned out she was never on the pill and got knocked-up. I believe her goal was to get pregnant so he would stay with her.

My son's mother "forgot" to take her pill in an effort to get me to marry her. When I left her, she didn't take it so well. I feel bad for the kid, but I didn't ask for a child, and still don't want one. He is being provided for though, and that is a good thing.
It's unfortunate however, that so many children have to suffer because of a woman that just has to have a child... DISCLAIMER: Of course, not "all" women are like this...

I've read somewhere they're ready to start clinical trials on a pill for men, which (recalling from the poor memory here...) I think lowers the sperm count but doesn't have any lasting effects. I heard about this within a month or so.

I remember seeing a program on this about 5 years ago. It was an injected BC medicine in to the guys leg.
A pill for men. Now women don;t have total control over the "oops, i'm pregnent, we be gettin married now" corner routine.

I'm married and my wife is itching for kids...would be funny to be firing blanks for a few years.
But I got enough problems without taking MORE meds.

Sound a lot better to me than having a vasectomy, especially if there are no lasting effects.

Just contemplate for a minute the look on that womaon's face who's cheating on you with some broke@ss really good-lookin' guy like me, when she says,
"I'm pregnant! We're going to have a family", and you get to say, "not unless I'm the god-father baby, 'cause my marker is running too low on ink to write". This is almost as good as the women suing over tabasco and habanero in the condoms...

I make beautiful babies, this has been confirmed. And he's incredibly smart...
But I want to be the one who decides when a baby is born, and I'm going to have to start paying for it!

I remember from biology that they haven't been able to perfect a drug of this nature because it messes up the whole man's chemical structure causing some awful side effects. Still even so without the hat, you can still get STDs.

I wasn't a "Leykis 101" student when I got my baby's mama pregnant. However, that doesn't excuse her actions, or dismiss my desire for the aforementioned product.
Also, I'll worry about STD's with condoms, if I'm ever single again. As for the single guys out there, the whole point is, if the condom breaks, you aren't depending on some emotional basketcase/golddigger for peace of mind...you are supplying your own!

Lads, it's basic biology. Effective contraception must stop a woman from releasing one egg per month. Men make about twenty-thousand sperm per hour.
I frequently remind my wife of this fact; Wife: "How can you sit on you butt all day doing nothing?" Me: "Nothing? I'm making 20,000 sperm an hour! You think that's easy? I'm a freakin' factory, baby!"

Woo hoo to the condom comment and STDs! Sooooo important.
Anyway, when I heard about this development, I remember thinking "I wonder how many men would actually take this because they don't like the idea of taking meds for this...and what it does.... A couple here confirmed that for me. I have to tell you though, I have a huge dislike for medicines though, and I always found it um, ironic, that men want me to take drugs to prevent pregnancy while they need to do nothing. Now remember, I am a woman with no children (intentionally) and am responsible, but taking the pill and the health effects has always been on my mind. It would be nice to shift that burden to a man. Tho I wonder if the roles would change? I mean, what if a guy told me he was on "the pill" and then I get pregnant? OMG. And who has to carry it for 9 months, as well as who is ultimately responsible for that kid (with few exceptions, it's usually the woman). |
