Could you cheat on your spouse/significant other?

If the temptation is so great, do you think you could cheat? If the opportunity presented itself and there was no way she/he could ever find out, would you do it? And with whom would you cheat? Someone that's the complete opposite of your partner, maybe a bimbo? How about an old girlfriend or even a co-worker?

I don't think I could go through with it. My parents divorced because Dad couldn't keep his hands to himself. It's the kids who really suffer in a divorce so I'd never repeat history.

I don't think you'll get many to own up to it but the statistics say that there'll be A LOT of adulterers on this board.

You've got to be kidding! My wife has always been able to look at me and ask,"Well, what did you buy this time?" I have an "open face" she reads me like a book.
On the other hand, it doesn't hurt that she is still a size 6 after 28 years of marriage. Besides, I've kept my eyes open and I've got to tell you: The grass ain't always greener on the other side of the fence.
Put me down as :Happily Married. Couldn't do it.

There's a line in the Billy Crystal flick, City Slickers. One of his friends asks him about a hypothetical situation: he's in the middle of nowhere, and a spaceship lands infront of him and a goreous woman comes how and offers to make love to him. Would he do it?

Billy Crystal's answer was no. The friend countered: "But no one would ever know you did it." His response: "But I would."

I love my wife too much to ruin something good with an affair, or even a one night stand. Besides, she's the most beautiful woman in the world, so there is no need to search for greener grass. Kim will ALWAYS be the most beautiful woman in the world in my eyes. Period. End of sentence.

No chance.

Now we have a kid...it was a joint decision to get together, a joint one to have a kid....and regardless of temptation you got be honest with your kid your better half and yourself.

If you're single and somebody who is married wants to play then its their concience they have to deal with, not your own.

Personnally I wouldn't be able to face myself in themirro and I look even worse with a beard...

I think you might get more "yes" answers if this was a poll on which folks could just vote w/o having their names appear next to their answers....

Its not worth it. I would not want my lady with another man and assume that she would not with someone either. I know several people at work who do not share this concept and sleep around while married but I could not do this if I was in a relationship.

My ex-wife was a German lady, did heart transplants for a living. Met her while flying the trainsplant team as a medivac pilot in Berlin. She let it be known early on in the relationship that "if you do anything wrong" (without telling me what "wrong" was of course) that she would give me a transplant, free! Thankfully all my parts are still intact and working.

Another large part of this is that I could care less if I ever have sex again in my life. That said, finding the right woman to make love with the rest of my life would be very nice. There is a big difference and did not realize this as a kid.

Like Billy Crystal says, I would know and being honest is a large part of any relationship.

Not to pee in anybodys snowcone. But incase you haven't heard, it's not kewl to be quoting Billy Crystal. Especially quoting verbatim lines from City Slickers or its sequels. It shows your age and unkewlness.

Next time figure cowbells = in
Billy Crystal = out.

Red,

Could care less about being cool or not. I still quote Steve McQueen and John Wayne from time to time...

Print this thread and give it to them.

This thread has put such a smile on my face.

I hate cheaters and cheating. And you guys are so correct, it's not worth possibly losing the love of your life...and for what?

I remember the good old days when people would quote lines from the Terminator
"The 600 series we rubber skin, we spotted them easy. These are new, different, very hard to spot."

Now the world has crumbled to Curly. Oh, the tragedy.

A good friend of mine cheated, and now his life is in shambles. Divorce is coming. They are discussing who gets the kids when, financial arrangements, etc.

I had coffee with him again last night. He is very quick to say it's not worth it. The pain he has caused his wife. The emotional trauma for his three children. The financial drain of two residences. The disappointment of family and friends.

I was his best man. Now he's a broken man.

Through all of this, I have told my wife she is the only one. Ever. Even when we are butting heads I remind myself that she is precious, and deserves to be treated as such.

By being faithful, I don't have to worry about a phone call some day from a paternity test. I don't worry about STD's.

I've got a good thing. I'm not about to mess it up.

Years ago a good friend of mine was having problems with his marriage. I sat him down and read him the riot act. He had a problem with his zipper, especially after having a drink. He always looked up to me and I told him that I had accomplished everything I ever wanted in life but one thing was missing, a good partner in life.

It worked for another 15 years then he got "frisky" again and by this time she had enough of it and divorced him. It broke him in two but then he deserved it. We are both single again and I see him from time to time. Its been another 5 years since his divorce but he is still not the same person. At least he does not play around anymore but at what a high cost.

If you have a good partner in life, stick with them. Treat them as you would want to be treated. We usually do not realize how good we have it until its gone...

Screwing is cheap, love is priceless. With a scale like that, it's easy to make the right choice.
