Yes the coriolis effect, does exist . . but that is not why your sink swirls. . .Check the sinks and toilets in your house. They likely don't all swirl the same direction. If it were a hemisphere/coriolis thing, then drains in Equador would . . .do what?
Coriolis may get clouds spinning, but it's not forcing your drain one way or another... ..
