Interpol - Narc
Midnight Movies - Just to Play (http://www.midnightmovies.net) My other favorite song is INST from a band Instruments of Science and Technology, but that hasn't been release yet... Soon. |
I have just one....
Jesus of Suburbia, 9+ unbelievable minutes of Green Day... |
Just one here: "Gin and Juice" by the Gourds
Great Bluegrass cover of a Snoop Dog track. http://www.last.fm/music/Gourds/_/Gin+and+Juice Word. |
"best" is relative, isn't it?
|
F The FCC- Steve Earle
Now, I'm a little left on social issues, a little right on economic ones, but this song, as crude as it is, reminds all of us that people died for the right to say that. |
Vertigo - U2
Here with Me - Dido (or was that from 2003?) Nothing but You - Paul Van Dyk (or was that from an earlier year?) -Z. |
Anyone into Paloalto? What about Muse?
|
Duality - Slipknot
Im sure I can think of two more |
"It's My Life" by No Doubt...
|
The No Doubt tune is a remake of a Talk Talk tune....which is no surprise because there hasnt been a good song released on the radio airwaves in many years. Todays "music" pretty much sucks.
|
Sonic,
How true! The "Talk Talk" version (original) wasn't as good. I normally don't like remakes, but No Doubt really did a great job with that song. I especially like the "crunchy" guitars! |
Yeah the No Doubt version is great....really adds a new twist to the original. I like the original version though... very cool in an 80s way.
BTW man... just saw your tag...Im from Southgate, MI. Small world. One of my best friends lives in Wyandotte. |

Sonic,
My wife and I are originally from Trenton and moved back to Wyandotte to live after I got out of the Navy in '91. Our families are here, so that's why we came back but I hate having to store the car in the winter, I put Helga up a week ago and it's killing me living in the rust belt!! |
azasady.....did you go to Trenton High in the 70s - 80s? My dad was a teacher there....
I know what you mean by "rust belt" ... too bad that you dont get to enjoy your 911 more out there. headstud..... its all a matter of opinion or more. In my case, I am an experienced and schooled musician... I just do not hear the creativity, relationship between innovative melody, harmony and rhythm that used to exist in pop music,,,, these days. |
Sonic,
Yep, graduated in '79. What's your father's name? |
Ill PM You...

In your second statement you mentioned "pop music". I might agree that pop music does kind of suck. But then again, I don't take pop music seriously. It is what it is. So as not to hijack the thread, here are my picks... 1) Interpol - Evil (It's been crazy to see the evolution of this band's popularity over the past few years.) 2) Modest Mouse - The Good Times are Killing Me 2a) Modest Mouse - Blame it on the Tetons (These guys have been around forever, mainstream now, I'm sure they're stoked) 3) Jay Z - My First Song Ahh, there's more, but you said three. :D |
First nomination:
Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix) |
