God bless America.

Nice try, next time just think a little before you type and we won't have this problem.

Lenfatty??? What are you 9 years old?

Want to place a bet that Karl Rove is not sitting in the Oval Office right now telling Bush how to blame the messenger?

Come on man, wake up and smell the coffee.

You liked that Lenfatty bit? It started out as a typo and I let it ride.

len..

Just what is your point? So many of your posts show an absolute lack of empathy for anything or anyone that doesn't affect you directly.

Why? Is narcissm a good trait? Is lying by the military to cover up a tragedy and make it look better than it was noble? Is this incident just another example of the mess in Washington and elsewhere? How can all of this be defended? How far will one go to be an apologist for what is going on?

Try to find your soul. And before you attack, which I expect, just remember that the Tillman story is very seriously taken down here. What happened to him should not happen again. What happened to his family shouldn't happen again. These are human beings and need to be respected as such, despite the fact you do not know them directly.

I would rather have someone tell me the truth, even if I didn't want to hear it than someone lie to me and tell me only things they thought I wanted to hear. Honesty seems to be an endangered species in this all too sad world.

Fire away.....Nomex skivvies already on.......

I'm not a very emotional guy, but even then I'm not sure what you're getting at in this post. I think Tillman is worthy of the highest praise possible. His family has experienced the ultimate sacrifice and they have every right to be angry. What made you think I felt otherwise?

Find my soul? wtf man?

Well said, and I see I'm not the only one that sees this over and over again.

Sorry for the delay in response, I was cleaning my fangs after feasting on the blood of innocents. Ever get innocent flesh stuck in your incisors? It's a real bugger I tell ya.

Ayup.

I'm impressed that a guy with everything to lose still felt a sense of duty. That's what i take away from the entire story.

Let's not degrade the man's sacrifice by using it as a weapon to give/take votes.

Erik

BTW-
Lying about what happened was/is disgusting and i'm sure it's been happening since the beginning of time.

Let's review shall we?

Tillman, a patriot volunteered....
He made the Ranger team due to his intellect and athletic skills.....
He was sent to A-Land of the Taliban.....
He was killed by fellow Troopers in a screw up.....
The Army shut down the base while they seeked to cover their collective asses.....
They lied to the family and the public......
The liars still have their jobs.....
The onscene commanders still have their jobs....
Tillman is STILL dead.....
Bush is the Kommander in Cheef.....
Clinton was impeached for lying about a BlowJob.....

And you wonder why I can't sleep and I'm up at 4 am in the morning....

It changes our level of trust in the things our government tells us.

That's a fair and true comment.

So again I ask, can you provide an example of anyone trying to "undermine her and the Tillmans"?
I can think of three...you, Joe and that idiot down in Florida....

What would not have changed is Tillmans spirit and sacrifice and he would most certainly have been regarded as a role model and stellar example of a patriotic american.

What may have changed for some is their support for our government in relation to our dealings in the middle east. That's what they were afraid of.

Here's the rub, Tillman died in Afghanistan. A military action that I and I think a lot of Iraq dissenters do support. The attempt to cover up the truth was motivated by a desire to keep the negative fallout from affecting our view on Iraq, a military action that I do not support.

You should be outraged that your government USED a fine man like Tillman to protect THEIR agenda. They lied to YOU. They did not care about Tillman, his family or YOU. Isn't that obvious?

Bears repeating. Excellent synopsis. Worst part is Bush and Rove knew about this.

I made no apologies for that, I agree with you. I do not spread blame without evidence, but in spirit I agree.

+1. If you are just now figuring out that the gov't has no respect for the truth you've got some catching up to do.

Shaun @ Tru6 04-25-2007 06:24 AM

Moral equivalence is cowardly.

Tim Hancock 04-25-2007 08:08 AM

I was bored, so I looked in this thread (the Tillman topic sounded like a breeding ground for a liberal circle jerk and low and behold I was right ;) ) Sorry for leaving you all alone in here so long Lendaddy, but this thread is never going to amount to anything more than a Bush bashing/blaming session.

I have no problem with the military attempting to paint their efforts in the best light possible as this country is filled with people who no longer have the stomachs for difficult military action (wussification of America). Bad stuff happens in wars and with the liberal media's coverage that is possible in todays hightech society, no one should be shocked to see the military attempt to hide some of the ugliness of war.

Flame away lefties, I don't give a shiit! ;)

Shaun @ Tru6 04-25-2007 08:19 AM

Tim, when you justify government lying to you, you invite Tyranny to sit at your dinner table. Pat Tillman died as part of mission to keep us Free. Isn't irony wonderful?
