Breitlings are excellent watches. My father-in-law is a pilot, and has a Breitling Emergency Mission. It's badass!

Breitling and IWC are great watch companies.

Personally, Im a dedicated Rolex sport watch snob. Favorite watches are an Explorer, military sword hand Sub, Bond Sub, Pan Am GMT, and a Steel Daytona. Favorite watch I can afford is a no date sub or a current Explorer.

Under a grand? Sinn 656 or a Tudor Ranger.

McQueen was a known as a Huer (Not to be confused with Tag Huer) guy, but he did wear a steel Rolex in one film. The watch was a ref. 1655 Explorer II and IIRC, the movie was Bullit.

I'm partial to the Tag myself. I've had my 6000 series for about 7 years now. It originally came with a leather band that wore out after a couple of years so I tryed a metal band and it broke after a couple years so I'm back to a leather band. I probably wear the watch too much (even working on cars if I don't catch myself).

The best prices I've seen on watches is at Ashford
They tend to be very slow, but they've always delivered.

I have a Cartier Tank watch, no picture sorry, but I've been very tempted to get one of those Stauer watches advertised in many mags. The says something like, $159 on your wrist, and $679 in your pocket. Most of their watches are VERY handsome and look to be good quality. Anyone here have one?

Regards,

I like Movados. Not very functional but very classy. Not big and bulky like a Rolex or Tag. Looks great with a suite.

My "daily driver" is a Citizen EcoDrive (solar-powered) tank watch "clone" with a leather band. My "Sunday go to meeting" watch is a 1940's era Bulova art deco tank watch in rose-colored gold that my wife gave me as a wedding present 18 years ago.

I do like the Meistersinger watch that Curt Egerer (cegerer) posted here, it's a great looking watch!

I had this one for a while and loved it. I think I will get another one. Sinn 144 GMT, German made. Valjous 7750 chrono.

Always reminded me 911 instrumentation. Great watch, reasonably priced.

I have a nice Armani watch that I wear and quite like. Cost about $150 and has really held up well with daily use.

I just got this a few days ago. Citizen F1 EcoDrive. It's a non-US model so it can be tough to find, but generally around $100 on Ebay.

Jason Porter- I also have an Omega Seamaster Pro. Got it in Geramany with the European bracelet. Much cleaner IMHO.

If I have to wear a watch due to circumstances like fishing, diving, surfing, hurricanes, etc I'll wear Tidewatch. It has an hourly tide update dig bar graph, can plot future tides, etc. Rip Curl also makes a tide watch.

This is my current favorite. I'm waiting for the right deal to present, since new price is out of my reach.
