If I have a "next one" she will definitely be very financially secure, have rock hard abs (or close to it! ha) and her plastic surgeon's number in her cell phone....probably her shrink's number too! ha

From my Grandad - "Whether you're rich or poor, it's nice to have money."

My Grandfather liked to know where a person stood. His advice to me: "*****, stand or stampede, pick one. Folks like to know what they're dealing with. Make a choice and move on."
I miss his candor.

I will never forget my dear departed grandfather. He would put his hand on my shoulder and say, "Son, never...No...Always..." I don't remember exactly. It's been a long time.

It's excellent advice, and I wouldn't allow a relationship to progress until after reaching that 500 hour mark.
Wish I had heard that one about 2 months ago :(

However, my all time favorite is the story that R. Duvall told Sean Penn in the movie Colors about the two bulls. I was going to cut and paste it from movie-page.com but I'm not sure if that's the best thing to do for a couple of reasons...

good advice though

Why don't you just buy a car that was made to go fast in the first place!

scottmandue -- your dad is a Jenius!

I recently came up with my own corollary to that law (so it was advice I gave myself...) and kind of goes along with the "it's just as easy to fall in love with a rich girl..." advice:

"Why not buy a car that's already been restored? Moron."

That last little bit at the end is so I pay attention.

In honor of Johnny Carson's passing, some of his advice circa 1974:

"If you pull out your handkerchief, and you're going to blow your nose and clean your glasses, make sure you clean your glasses first."

Next time I will take that advice...but I still got one in the garage to restore and what if you don't fit in the new ones..

ehhhh......

Spud 01-25-2005 03:48 PM

This one fits the times I think...

"A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, much less die, nothing he holds in higher regard than his own personal safety is no man at all, but a miserable creature who has no chance of ever tasting life or being free unless made free and kept free by the sweat, tears and blood of men much better than himself."

Don't know who said it though...
