I'm headed down to the LA area(edit: tomorow) for a week. I've only blown thru LA in the past. I'll have more time to 'see the sights' this time around.
So, who's going to be around for a beer? What should I see? Who has an extra 911 I can rent/borrow? btw, my wife and I will be staying in Santa Monica. . . some beach-shack, sez my wife.

Jeez Island,
First it's recovery on the beaches of Oahu and now a week on the beach in sunny LaLa Land. Becoming quite the jet-setter you are...

wish I had my own plane . ..
Drago -- What can I say?
. . . I'm into that SWAP thing. (Seattle Winter Avoidance Program) ![]() So, any rumors about super-secret SCWDP weather-control, based out of Hawaii, to send massive amounts of rust-causing rain to the land of the early 911's, are NOT true. . . . the SCWDP had nothing to do with that, and I am NOT going to LA to assess the aftermath rust levels.

- Call Pelican about the weekend card game.
- Venice entertainment beach shopping is close. - Good bicycle riding on the beaches from Venice going south. - Main St in Santa Monica has a few decent breakfast and lunch shops, art studio, and bars. Main St also sees 50's-60's nice cars. - The mall area of Marina Del Rey is a good place to kill a few hrs with the bride. The Marina is a 15min car ride from SM. - Tyson at TRE isn't far away. - There is weekend night time boat cruises out of the Marina. - There is a used car shop in the Marina on Hy1/ Lincoln Blvd that sells ratty 911's for big bucks to amateurs. Gotta see it to believe it. - Radar may be around school areas.

BTW, in case you're into wetsuits, Long Beach Calif has the best custom suit builder in the whole US imo. LB is about 45-60min away from SM.

Modena (sp?) Motorworks in W. Hollywood usually has something cool sitting inside... 800 block of N. La Cienega (sp?). My grandparents lived in a condo just around the corner, and I'd always walk by the big bay window really really slowly... Also, I'd recommend breakfast at the farmer's market at least once, and dinner at Lowrey's if you like prime rib, or the Stinking Rose if you like garlic. And of course do the Peterson Auto Museum.
(note, I dont live in LA LA Land but I visited there 2-3 times a year until last year. strange place to this florida boy)

Thanks for the good sugestions.
I am in LA-LA Land now... I stopped by Pelican yesterday . . . saw the promently displayed Cool-Collar. .. .that aside, I think that this "Wayne" guy might have something smart going one there. ![]() I'll definitely be going to TRE, and also meet-up with as many LA-Pelican-heads, as reasonably possible. aside; I have minimal internet opportunities down here, but will check back here when I can.

I really want to see a picture of speeder, DD74 and Island sitting around chatting about politics...while drinking beer, naturally.
Maybe Superman could fly down for the event too.

This thread is useless without pics.
Hope you're having a good time there, Island and wife. We're digging out here in the NE.
