Republicans slashed tires on democrat party vans

Yes, its a copy & paste, but it's worth it.

Quote:
MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- The sons of a first-term congresswoman and Milwaukee's former acting mayor were among five Republican activists charged Monday with slashing the tires of vans rented by Democrats to drive voters and monitors to the polls on Election Day.

Sowande Omokunde, son of Rep. Gwen Moore, R-Wis., and Michael Pratt, the son of former Milwaukee acting mayor Marvin Pratt, were among those charged with criminal damage to property, a felony that carries a maximum punishment of 3 1/2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The activists are accused of flattening the tires on 25 vehicles rented by the state Democratic party to get out the vote and deliver poll watchers November 2.

Also charged were Lewis Caldwell and Lavelle Mohammad, both from Milwaukee, and Justin Howell of Racine.

The Democratic party rented more than 100 vehicles that were parked in a lot adjacent to a Kerry campaign office. The party planned to drive poll watchers to polling places by 7 a.m. and deliver any voters who didn't have a ride.

Some Democrat officials have criticized Milwaukee County District Attorney E. Michael McCann, a Republican, for taking more than two months to bring charges.

McCann said FBI agents were involved in interviewing witnesses in four states: Georgia, Virginia, Maryland and New York.

"We asked the FBI knowing that this probably wouldn't be their first priority," he said.

Rick Wiley, state Democratic executive director, discovered the vandalism on the morning of Election Day.

"It was unbelievable that people could stoop this low in a political campaign," he said. "I figured it had to be someone from the opposition. But I didn't think someone on the paid Bush campaign would do this."

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quoted sources Sunday as saying the five were paid staffers.

Wiley didn't say whether the vandalism prevented anyone from voting, but he said poll watchers were about two hours late.

Moore did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Is anyone surprised that the fanatic Bush supporters would do this?

I mean we all knew about the republicans plan to disenfranchise voters and prevent them from going to the polls by any means necessary. That was all over the news before the election.

Now substitute Republican with Democrat, Democrat with Republican, Bush with Kerry and you have the real story.

LOL. Another example of the liberal press & their fanatic devotion to covering all things bad about the Republican party. Don't they know the election is 3 month-old news, and no amount of complaining is going to change the result?

First of all, lets get the news correct. It was the Democrats who slashed the tires on the Republicans vehicles!

Here is the story from CNN:

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- The sons of a first-term congresswoman and Milwaukee's former acting mayor were among five Democratic activists charged Monday with slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans to drive voters and monitors to the polls on Election Day.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quoted sources Sunday as saying the five were paid staffers.

Wiley didn't say whether the vandalism prevented anyone from voting, but he said poll watchers were about two hours late.

Moore did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Yep-Milwaukeean here. Been watching this one milked on local news forever. It was vans rented by Republicans. Either way it was classless.

After a couple thousand miles, I checked the torque on my head studs on my mag case motor. Nice and snug. That was a load off my mind.

Hey Todd, how many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hmmm, kind of like a certain governor up in your neck of the woods....

Now, let's see if the WA state rightists (if there are any), will call her "your governor" during her term.

Funny, I was in Buffalo NY the day after the election. The Republican Headquaters was trashed by a mob. I don't get it...

Next thing you know, the "W" will mysteriously go missing from keyboards all over the Whitehouse. Oh, wait...

Read Bryans last paragraph. The real story was Democrats slashing Republican tires.

Actually, I applaud Brian for this mini-experiment. I draw from it the following conclusions:

1) That many of you experience "selective outrage"-- that your initial response was NOT "how could they do such a thing, they ought to be prosecuted if they were dumb enough to engage in such tactics." It was, rather, "serves them right for what they did to US."

2) The ability to turn your outrage on and off for political purposes may be expedient for many of you. You may derive pleasure from that sneaking Machiavellian feeling. However, you are really "crying wolf" in terms of the general population's willingness to listen to, or believe, allegations of electoral fraud. It may already be too late: the proponents of investigations, for example, in Ohio, with all the associated melodrama, may have politicized the investigation to the degree where the average American thinks it's sour grapes.

My own reactions were two, just for the record: First, I thought, "what the hell are the Democrats DOING providing free transportation, isn't that a violation of the electoral rules itself? You are not allowed to give any items of value as an inducement to vote. And secondly, I thought, what kind of MORONS would be dumb enough to slash the oppositions tires? They should be prosecuted and made examples of . . . so called "Republicans" give the party a bad name with examples like this.

Are you guys sick of this stuff yet?
