OK Craig, I think I understand your point, but lets bring this down to base level - good looking as in symetrical, proportional, balenced and appearing healthy. What if we apply this to cars?

Would you own a great looking car that wasn't that "smart" as in reliable or dependable.
Or
Would you own very depenable, reliable, "smart" car that looked like arse?
And while your at it, make any upgrades to the 66?
(I should talk, the 77 is maligned)

I drive a '90 CRX with 355K miles on it! (That car is bulletproof). I have to have reliability in order to get to work, but there's more to life than work - hence the SC. I would say that when it comes to cars, need both.

The '66 is actually my son's. It's in great shape although we have been fighting a battle with the rust bubbles lately.

There is a legitimate point that has been made previously that points out that geniuses, by and large, are not necessarily happy people. I can't argue with that. Guys cutting off their ears, having their work stolen and being the target for scam artists are part and parcel of having extraordinary qualities.

On the flip side, the good looking people don't always end up happy either. Too often jealousy and disillusionment are the undoing of the beautiful people.

both is not an option my man - you want carb free/sugar free cake.

P-cars, F-cars and L-cars have the lines of a model - some are reliable becuase of the care taken. You bend the CRX, she works for you and not a bad looking car but not in the same class as the Italian speeders or P-cars. Work them like you would a Toyota or Subaru and compare outlay.

Smarts and ambition are different - those guys/girls finding neutrinos and cloning T-cells but what makes them pioneers is three things:
1) ave to above ave smarts
2) big time ambition
3) interdisciplinary ideas

The CRX is a mechanical miracle the way I drive it. I change the oil every 10,000 miles. I haven't changed the timing belt since it turned 160,000 miles. That's almost 200,000 miles on the same belt - and it's an interference engine! Every time I get into that car I spin the barrel and pull the trigger - scary.

I'm going to stick with my original choice of genius over beauty, but looks combined with ambition, that would be a killer combination. I could see where that mixture would get you far in life.

Beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes down to the bone.

Good looking and dumb.

You see: (tongue firmly in cheek)

The good looking/dumb guy is too stupid to know he's not smart.

The Smart guy knows he's ugly...

So with good looking you essentially THINK you have both.

You forgot about personality. I got short changed on that one.

This reminds me of a funny saying, "Every family has an idiot... if you don't know who the family idiot is, well..."

Here's another one, "Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience."
