Anyone use hibernate?

I know this is a stretch, but I know there are a few programmers here...

I'm having a hell of a time getting a query from a many-to-many relationship... I basically want to select all of the beans of one type that aren't part of the many-to-many relationship. I could do it easily in SQL, but Hibernate's HQL syntax is pretty funky. I'm thinking I need to map the collection or something... any ideas?

I believe it will be run on the Apple XServe (http://www.apple.com/xserve/) but for now it's running on my g5. It *could* run on anything running Tomcat and any sort of database.

I ended up figuring it out about 11:45 last night... I can't believe it took ten freaking hours to figure out one query string. Works swell, though

How is OS X for a server? My gruv.org server is an iMac, but I have it running on Debian Linux instead of OS X... I'm guessing for my uses I'd have to do a lot of setup work for fink and darwin to get all the utilities, etc. I use...

I like it a lot. It's not a lot different than using a linux server, and if you get into the command-line stuff, it's very similiar. If you use OS X and not OS X Server, there's a pretty big difference, as far as utilities and monitoring go. Any utilities that you use have probably been made for X also, or there are alternatives.

Since our project is JSP/Java and we're using CVS, it really could be done on a Linux box just as easily.
