I haven't touched GT4 nor Halo since March, since the track season has kept me busy w/ working/prepping my car but I have to ask:
has anyone here played Forza? Just curious about the feel/quality of the game vs. GT (really curious about the online capability too) |

THE BTR!! YEAH IT'S A FUN CAR ONCE YOU CAN HANDLE IT IT'S MORE OF A DRIFTING CAR IT DRIFTS THRU THE CORNERS.. BUT IT'S FUN..

disaster! managed to grab about an hour of free time so i thought id thrash the BTR about and post a time-switched the ps2 on and.....nothing. ok, must be a fuse. nope. balls. ive only had it for about 6 months!

flip it over, undo all the black screws (some are longer than others, so put them away in a similar pattern so you know where they go) you have to remove some rubber feet if I recall, to get some of the screws out.
when you open the case halves, be careful, there are wires connecting them. once right side up again, figure out which (very little) screws you need to unscrew to expose the laser lens (I think that's the lens, anyway it's the part that "reads" the discs and moves inward/outward) clean that clear glass bubble w/ an alcohol dipped swab, reassemble, and you'll be all set hint: reassemble using as few screws as necessary (2 long, 2 short or something similar) since you'll be doing this again..... eventually ;) you will be voiding your warranty when you split the cases since there's a sticker on the back that has to be ripped/cut. Since this is the only thing I've ever seen go wrong w/ them, you can fix it in 30 min (about 13 for your next attempt) or you can send it out and wait a month.... |

Hey Carl, I am going back a couple times this month and I have some new rubber that is rated for dry/wet conditions, and from what I can tell so far they will work well so some fun will be had. I suck at GT4...I run clean 6:30 lap after lap (Ruf CTR2) but when I push it for a faster lap I end up sloppy and slower. Someone asked if anyone had done the 24 hour race...well yes I have. :D I did about 15 hours in A Spec and the rest in B spec. Also completed 4 0r 5 other endurance races. My favorite car (have not ran it on the ring yet) is a F-1 car that I won in an endurance race. |

If it comes on but just hangs at the first screen, then clean the lense. When I cleaned mine I just gave it carefull blasts with one of those compressed air cans. BTW, I am running with a Driving Force wheel, makes the BTR a little easier to handle, I think. :) |

I wish, I wish I was there right now! Can you mail me some of the better pictures you took while I was there. I think your camera was a little better than mine. I think you also got some pics of the 964 RS that had a little accident... I'd like to have some of those. The game will have to suffice for now... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1118877090.jpg Now, I did this in GT mode and I had to buy the BTR. |
WHOA!! I just turned a 7:49, and was feeling good. Nice job Carl. UUHH back to work.
|
I just ran a 7:09 with my fully modded 667 HP BTR. However on the screenshot it shows Power 368HP. I think our spec class has to stay in Arcade Mode. We wouldn't want this to turn into Spec Miata now would we:D
|
The BTR is a tough car to drive fast, on another note,
Carl, Read it and weep....:D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1118895804.jpg |
That makes sense... I guess arcade mode keeps it fair. Is there a way to run unlimited laps at the 'ring in arcade mode? I've never really done any racing outside of GT mode. I'll get back to the challenge on Tuesday, I've got a date w/ Indy this weekend!
