Ok, gotta get a PS2, questions......

Can I use the new PS2 with an LCD computer monitor, or do I have to use a TV of some sort. I want to play GT4 and want to splurge on a good steering wheel/gas/brake pedal setup. Any recommendations? The feedback stuff from Logitech looks pretty good.

TIA

IF you get a video in/out capable card, like the hauppage or ATI cards it would certainly work.

I have another TV question:

My TV is high-def, when I switch to a high-def channel it just works etc.... when I try to set the PS2 settings to high-def, it just flickers and reverts back to "regular" quality picture w/o displaying in high-def. Why?

My understanding is that you need a high quality connector to the tv to make use of the ability (S video/ componet out). Check with your local geek shop they should know.

Where does the card go? In the game unit?

No, it goes in your PC. The PS2 hooks to the PC and then to the monitor if I am not mistaken.

I have done some searching and have found RCA -> HD-15 (SVGA) adapters, so that may be a viable option to use a computer monitor.
