I typically don't watch the news on TV (I get most major channels from NY or LA, I'm in Fl) and for the most part it is sensationalist crap, the local paper is yesterday's news tomorrow. My only real source of "real news" is the front page of
http://news.google.com
However, I just read a link from a different site, and found a rather refreshingly honest, nonpartisan, real news story about checkpoints in Iraq. Turns out the news site was the Christian Science Monitor - which really suprised me. (article at
http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/0307/p01s04-woiq.html - good read)
Apparently, the CSM enjoys a fairly good reputation for unbiased unsensationalistic real news.... Anyone else got an opinion?
