Job Help

The company that I worked for went Chp. 11 on me back in August.

Since then I have been working on an independent DRTV, (infomercial) project. The funding for it is taking longer than I am comfortable with and I'm starting to get nervous about the bills.

So I figure it's time to start job hunting before I have to dip into savings.

My portfolio is online at http://www.stomachmonkeys.com

I will be adding more content and some of the text will be changing.

Some of the videos are large and take a while to load.

I need some help in ensuring that the site works across the multitude of browsers and operating sytems out there.

My resume is at http://www.stomachmonkeys.com/sjenkins.pdf if anyone has the time to look at it and provide feedback.

Although my professional carrer spans 20+ years I've been fortunate enough to have the right opportunites find me and having to do an aggressive job hunt is a bit new to me so any help or advice would be welcome.

Thanks,
Scott

Was able to check everything out from work. This is a good sign because we run WebSense and nothing on your page caused it to be blocked.

Anywhooo, your page loaded fine in Firefox. Videos downloaded quick enough and opened in Media Player with no problems. Nice content, btw.

Good luck!

Randy

Not everyone can open .DOC files... I'd suggest converting to PDF

I've got to ask, who can't read .DOC's? windows, mac's and most unix systems can read it by default.

Even if everyone can open them, they don't always open the same way they were designed... fonts, widgets, all that good stuff... sometimes it gets destroyed going between OS's or versions of Word. PDFs are perfect and should always come out how they were designed.

There are some firewall setups that won't let .doc files come through for fear of macro virii too.

Tim -
Most *nix systems don't read it by default, neither will classic Mac OS or OS X. Or rather, won't unitl KOffice, AbiWord, OpenOffice, or Office for Macs is installed (OOo is a pain to get working on OS X)... Also, as bryanthompson mentions, your formatting/fonts/etc is not guaranteed. There is a reason the IRS uses PDF files for the downloadable docs

id10t,

You are correct although a Word doc is an industry standard and anyone that can't open it probably would not be much help to me.

But I've taken your advice to heart and changed it.

Thanks to those of you who've taken time from your day to respond to my request.

btw, the BMX trailer is kinda fun, WARNING, it's not really family or work friendly and if you are easily offended please don't view it.

The idea behind the game was a take off on "Airplane/Monty Python" type of humor.

Yolanda is actually a poodle, not a person.

The stock price went up 10% the day after we released the trailer.

Thanks again,
Scott
