Photofender.com-Spray on to License Plate to Avoid Photo Tickets

Photofender.com

Anyone seen this? Any idea if it works? How about a cheaper substitute?

Hairspray/hairlacquer on the number plate.
Hanging cds from your rearview mirror is another myth that probably doesn't work.
AND there is someone who posts here who has trick number plates that the police don't know about (YET), and who will pick up the tab for dinner for four at the Brazilian restaurant tomorrow night if he knows what's good for him

I read an article by a Calif lawyer who wrote a driver beat ticket book. Among his tips was to shoot your plate with clear paint. he said the intense light from the camera strobe would cause a glare. I shot my plate and tried a glare test using my cheap camera strobe. that didn't work. If this is the spray that was on TV and advertised in Popular Mechanics I'm going to use it.. who knows?

it doesnt work,
a little hint why do dirty number plates (ie mud) still get caught ?
same reason, nothing to do with reflecting lights

also it is an offence to tamper with a license plate (UK at least)

also hanging CD's

the reason hanging CD's came about was that it was a way that a certain car club (range rovers I think) used it as a way to identify each other. Then some bright spark thought that was why they used it.

Actually hanging CD's from your car makes it easier to be picked up by LASAR, nice bright shiny objects give a good radar/laser contact.

The Stealth bomber is BLACK (errr why ???)

the ONLY way to beat cameras is to become a Police Officer and drive legally at high speeds... period

or drive on a race track

LOL, remember the spray that was sold in car mags to make your car invisible to RADAR? lol

The only effective anti-camera plate thing-a-majig is probably the Fresnel lens type of frame/cover.

I've seen ads in Japanese magazines for a license plate frame that's made out of reflector material that's similar to the reflectors that cover a new bicycle. It looks like a "normal" frame, as much as a reflector-frame can, I guess, and in the corners it has a bit more of a surface area, just enough to cover up *most* of the date sticker. When a flash shoots it, from any direction, theory says that the reflector will.... reflect back.

I've seen a license plate frame - has to be illegal - that had vertical 'slats' such that you could only read it looking head-on. I guess that's sorta fresnel-esque.

Just go to a car dealer and get the free advertising that they put on all new cars and if you get pulled over, you can figure out what to say but at least our protected from photo cameras.

Don't intend to break the law! I never deliberately run red lights. But a $341 for a ticket, I'm concerned. Have you ever been halfway through an intersection when the light turned red as your waiting to turn? I'm not sure that those cameras distinguish between turns on red and blowing through the red light.

That's why you don't let the camera "decide" for you and just take matters into your own hands. That way you know where you stand

Well, technically, you're not supposed to enter unless it's clear to exit on the other side. It's annoying when a bunch of cars line up in the intersection on the yellow, and are parked in front of you when you get the green.

I've been flashed a couple of times in an interesection when I've had to stop because the car in front of me had to make a turn into a business - usually a gas station - and for whatever reason, has to do it very sloooooow, like when their car is ultra-pimp-low. No tickets as a result of it though. I think in order to be able to write a ticket for it, they have to get a pic of you behind the line on red, and again in the intersection.

So I have a question about this camera issue. Who is at fault, the car owner or the perpetrator? If I lent my car to my brother and he ran a red light, the ticket would come to my address, but I didn't break the law.

Dumb example: If I lent my gun to my brother to go to the shooting range and he committed a murder (and I had no way of knowing this) with the gun, I'm not a fault am I.

So if the perps at fault and not the onwer, maybe I should just wear some of those Groucho Marks glasses while driving. You know the funny ones with the big nose and mustache..

I think those cameras flash a lot sooner than the red light sometimes. I view this as preventative maintenance from being wrongly accused of running a red light

Wouldn't surprise me at all. It would be easy to prove simply by setting up a camcorder for a couple of hours, but it would be explained away as a technical glitch.
