Quite a clever design. The bait comes in from the bottom, so your fingers never have to get close to the jagged jaws. It cocks and locks with one hand. The trip plate is flat and wide.

The first casuality occured within three hours of installation. Over the next week, I got three more adult rats, and a pair of juviniles (twofer!) Works very very well.

Wish I had the same luck. I purchased the same trap three days ago and the bugger is picked clean every night. Rat 3, me 0.

what are you using for aait? If you mix peanutbutter and raw hamberg it should do the trick. Works great for catfish as well!

I thought that was the case, then I got up in the middle of the night and found the roaches picking it clean! Ahh, Brooklyn!

Good thing the crazy old cat lady moved out, things are much better. :D

Peanut butter only - Jif (cause the wife thinks it's the best). I was a Skippy raised kid...

First time I filled the bait container bowl with pb and it was shiny clean the next morning. So I decided I was putting in too much bait so the next two nights I worked the pb into the bottom corner of the bowl to make it more difficult to retrieve. No spring and rodent casualty yet but I am getting rid of the nasty Jif :)

Those new style traps work very well, and no snapped thumbs. I had a run recently of these bastids.

I bought a new garbage can, the expensive kind on a tether that opens and closes with the cabinet door. This cut off their food supply. The little bastards ATE through the top of the garbage, only to fall in to their peril, lobster trap style. I found two in the garbage that morning and sent them to live at the dump.

From the sounds I heard in our cabinets, I thought I was dealing with a monster, so I bought a "RAT" trap. About 5" long, with a big strong snapper. Two hours after setting it, SNAP! I checked, and a small field mouse had been cut clean in two, like something out of Kill Bill.

I then went smaller scale, and set these types of traps. In three days, I caught over 6 mice. They went from largest to smallest, I guess as I cut off the big guys food, the kin went looking as well. Now, there are none, thought I do think the colder weather will drive them back into our house.
