Having just gotten back to having time, $, etc. to go shooting after 10 years, I'm in the same boat. gunbroker.com seems to be the ebay of firearms (ffl xfer required, etc) so that may help with pricing. They also have forums like here at pp.

go to gunbroker and track a few auctions through end and see what the stuff sells for. Then hit the local shops and shows. If you decide to buy anything from gunbroker or auction arms, figure in shipping & transfer fees and make sure you have a transfer friendly dealer.

Hey Shuie when was the last time Gunbroker had an 1877 Sharps for sale and not an Axtel rifle....or a Springfield 1903 International Match Rifle...and not Springfield Armory in Glenco Ill....but the Arsenal in Springfield MA....

tabby, Im a gun guy, but most of the collector stuff you mess with out of my league. Im not sure what kind of pricing guide JR911 was looking for, but finished gunbroker auctions are usually a good indicator of what some of the more common stuff sells for.
