If you don't know what stock to buy, or from whom, get professional advise. Diversify in mutual funds (no load, or low fee) versus buying a lot of one company. I'm not much of a stock trader, so I diversify in a number of professionally managed funds.

Insider Info...for real!
Oil co.s (ExMo, Calumet, Valero) and Food Processing Co.s (Pilgrims Pride, Smithfield Foods, Goldkist). May also want to look at American Airlines - they will dip soon and come back with a vengence.

Don't make me tease you in about a year and say "I told you so!!!".

If you have the $$, I would highly recommend Porsche stock.

Never lost money, always pay dividends. You can download the annual report here

http://www3.us.porsche.com/english/usa/company/annualreport/download/texts/default.htm

Downside: it trades on the DAX, and shares are currently at 522 €

Looking for a broker - but I'd like to hear opinions as well on other stocks.
I was thinking of..............GM stock. Do not care for their products. Stock has just been hammered.

The chances of lube having genuine insider info are remote, or if true, illegal. Don't pick stocks on a whim or a hunch. IMHO, that's very, very risky.

Or, if you're going to do so, make sure you realise it is very, very risky.

as far as the insider stuff, prehaps it is an overstatement so I will withdraw that phrase.

I spend most of my time understanding the manufacturing and reliability profiles of various companies. When a company is buying up other ones or investing millions in measures to improve profitability when they are already kicking butt, I would say that they are looking at being the major, long term player. That is what I see happening with the FP co's mentioned. As far as the major oil companies - I compete with them all the time, and I spend a good portion of my time in their refineries doing the same sort of work that is done in the food processing sector - I also invest in them because I can calculate their operating margins and I know what their capacities are. They ain't goin away anytime soon.

But lets face it, the market is a casino without the free cocktails, just a bunch of cocks. I'm sure their are reputable brockers just like their are honest real estate agents - unless it is family, I'd rather deal with Vito, Tony and Joey-bag-o-donuts with my book.

And on a typical side note - Anyone who thinks that we are in a bad way with fuel is sadley mistaken - these prices are only a reflection of greed and profit taking, nothing else. Upside, I was told many states get a taxed percentage at the pump, the higher the price, the more the state makes for programs - just wish those programs were better managed, but thats another thread!
