Never click on a link in an email. I always log on to ebay.com or paypal.com directly, then sign into my account to check these out.

What dad911 said - all of these emails are scams. I don't even trust when my credit card company calls me to verify some transactions.
Once I had some alarm company telemarketer call me to see if I wanted to install an alarm system. I told him, "How do I know you're not a thief casing my house?" He was surprised by how many people do not question his call and give him information that a thief can easily use to gain entry into a house! The internet has just made 'entry' and theft that much easier. Be careful surfing out there! OT: Alan - any word on your son's car yet? -Z.

Paypal will always adress you by name, not by your e-mail adress, that is just one way to easily spot a scam.

The latest phish technique is to include a little virus with the email, so that when you open the phish email, the virus is activated, and then when you type the company's URL directly into your webbrowser like you are supposed to do, the virus intercepts it and sends you to the fake website.
It has gotten to the point that I ignore all email messages from anyone that I have an account with - eBay, PayPal, banks, etc. Between phishing and spam filters, I feel businesses should no longer consider email a reliable way to contact customers. Back to good old snail mail.
