The fact that the article doesn't mention her political affiliation leads me to believe she's not a Republican.

Where's the outrage over this, Thom, Steve, K?

Where's the sense that democracy (small "D") has been horribly perverted by this person using her office for personal gain?

Where's the sensitivity to Limbaugh's drug problem? Where's the bleeding-heart for anyone who is unfortunate enough to suffer a chemical dependency?

Oh, I forgot, you turn those things off selectively when it suits you.

Compare this to DeLay, who has people coming into bat for him left, right and centre. OK, maybe just right, right and right

I don't think anyone held her up to be a saint. On the other hand Limbaugh was telling everyone that drug addicts (or dealers- not sure) should be jailed. Hmmm, sounds like a DOUBLE STANDARD.

She should be thrown out of office, but then again is anyone surprised that a politican commited an ethics violation?

Cam, what exactly, do you believe DeLay did that is criminal or even unethical in the context of what goes on in the Beltway?

How do you conflate this woman's direct, obscene violation of ethics regulations with "bad thing" and jump directly to DeLay?

I've been waiting for someone to run their mouth about DeLay, and even baited dd74 about setting forth what exactly he did that's so wrong. From what I've read -- including the breathless (though largely unsubstantiated) "revelations" in NYT and WaPo, this is the Democratic Attack Machine in full smear campaign mode.

So I invite you to opine hereon. I probably won't be able to get back to you 'til tomorrow on this.

others -- MHO is that if this had been a Republican Senator, the headline would've been "Republican Senator Violates Ethics Rules." Maybe this black woman is a Republican. I dunno.

she's desperate for drugs in Fla of all places? The $ scam makes me wonder who else she scammed? I think she should just move her office to the Keys and and live happily ever after. She could visit the Moose Club on Big Pine Key get loaded all kinds of ways cheaply and pet those midget deers all day. If she learned to tune ocean racers she'd enjoy the snow storms. If she's as stupid as she seems maybe she should just clean boats with her straw.

This is probably the beginning of the end and eventually we'll be reading about a crash.

This is wrong also. Forging prescriptions is wrong. Chemically dependent people need help for their problem. She really should resign.
