Hence the 6-month waiting lists for Toyota Priuses.

People are now modifying the Prius, adding batteries so that the car can go 30 miles on battery power alone. You recharge the car overnight - or at a parking lot that has the special electric car charging points. With that kind of range, I'd probably use a tank of gasoline every 2 months, at most.

Is it time to dip into the "Strategic Petroleum Reserve"?

John Kerry had a plan.:D

I just had to say it, at least I can laugh about it now.

At $2.1209 per gallon for Diesel my truck was almost $53.00 for a fill-up yesterday. Can't wait until the Porsche is back on the road so I can save some gas money!!!

Of course, accross the street, it's ONLY $2.85........

You guys all realize it's just going to get worse, right?

It's not like China is slowing down, nor are you going to convince the oil corps to make less profit.

I'm using the same angle with my wife. So far it's not working...but then again gas here is only $2.79/gal for premium. Maybe by the end of spring....

Filled up the wife's Touareg the other night and found out that Chevron limits the credit card / ATM purchases to $60.00 !

David, I dream about $2.12 @ gallon diesel. It's ~$3.00 here.

I'm about to make the VW TDi w/ chip leap......, the fuel savings over my pig Volvo will pretty much make the payment on a new one. (And it's not like I don't have a payment already).

Get this one...there is a bill in the Orygun legislature, Governor can't wait to sign it, to raise the gas tax. Don't hold me to this, but I think the radio news said 15 cents per gallon? I guess they figure we'll blame anybody but the legislature. After all, who reads the fine print of how much the taxes amount to in each gallon?

Man, I just yesterday, paid $2.38 per gallon...for HEATING OIL, which is diesel, only supposedly "tax free?" It's a shame I can't fill up my oil furnace fuel tank in Texas, and even pay your road use tax...

Rufblackbird 04-15-2005 11:52 PM

filled up the 911 a few nights ago...$46, at $2.65 a gallon for Chevron 92 octane. And that's "cheap" in the area.

911pcars 04-16-2005 11:03 PM

As of today, the highest price is in San Francisco at $3.05/3.15/gallon (regular/premium).

The lowest price is in San Antonio at $1.89/2.09 (regular/premium)
