Best OTC Wax/ Polish Products?

It seems like everytime there's a wax thread, people always rave about Zaino, or some other obscure, mail order only product. Excellent as they may be, I hate mailorder, except whenever it's necessary, like saving money on Porsche parts. Anyway, I'm looking for the best polish and wax products that are available at Pep Boys, Autozone, etc. I've been through most of Meguiar's stuff, and never been just blown away. I was considering trying Mothers next, Pep Boys has lots of their stuff.

I like Mothers products, Meguiars is great to. I reccomend the Mother's 3 step wax system (cleaner, polish, wax). The technique is more important than the product. Also get microfiber rags from Costco they work great for detailing and do wonders on windows.

I've been through Meguiar's Gold Class, the Professional Wax and Polish 2 step system, and I just tried the new Meguiar's wax, whatever it's called, with the Fast and the Furious inspired bottle. I clay with all of them, and only use microfiber or really good 100% cotton. All decent, but none really blew me away. Maybe I'm too picky?

I have used Zymol on both my cars. At first I didn't like it because it stained the driveway but once I got the hang of it, it is really a nice wax and makes the car look really good.

OTC depends on where you shop. I bought Zymol over the counter, and I've been pretty happyu with it, but the Porsches were always kinda babied that way. For the Bimmer, I wanted something durable so I asked around on Autopia and picked up a couple of cans of Meguiars Mirror Glaze #16.

I was wondering what all that stuff lying around the house was for....Mother always said it was, "To keep Daddy in his place"

Anyway I am partial to McGuires......One of my neighbors when I was growing up was the daughter of the founder of the McGuires Polish Co...Mirror glaze....and as such got some free polish....
