I found out that I had one living 2 condos down from me. Had just moved down from Boston. Guy looked normal and was married with kids. So I decided to just ask him about it. Caught him at the mailbox. Come to find out he was convicted for having consentual sex with his 17 yr old girlfriend when he was 18. Her parents didnt approve of him so they called the police.
Amazing that this guy was lumped in with the same type of people that rape children. I feel for him. |

Apparantly here in St. Louis- If you get ticketed for public urination like at a big festival downtown and prosecuted, you have to register as a sex offender (public exposure). Seems crazy.

The laws or regulations need to be changed so that people like the two above posts are not classified the same as someone who actually molests a child.
Luckily for me none showing in my area. Course that means that no one has registered... JoeA

I live in a fairly affluent neighborhood and I have three within four blocks of my house. One is a woman who was convicted of Statutory Rape and the other two are older looking perverts who were both convicted of fondling little boys. Great area I live in these days. We have had two child abducitons and murders down here in the Tampa area recently, WTF is going on with our society?

I'm not sure I like this system. A search in my neighborhood showed several, but I know those houses and that's not who lives there. So basically they're 'outing' people somewhat at random.

Our (new) state doesn't allow actual addresses, I was able to find most of the names on the phone book; none were close by.
Certainly a good thing to look into if you have kids, especially after this Florida thing. |

Thank you for posting that. While I am not a father, I think it is good to know who is around you. I found one right on my street and 13 more in my neighborhood. I only hope that the system has helped these sick people.

The most recent Florida girl, the alleged killer was dating the mother.
The other recent case the alleged killer lived within eye sight of the front porch of the victim's trailer home. SAD

Only one "may have relocated" entry in our zip code; however, there are >11,000 listings in L.A. County. That's pretty scary.

There is only 1 in my area. I don't know where in my town he lives because there was no information on where he lived. He was accused once for annoying/molesting children.

I found quite a few in my town/village/township. We live in a small town but the zip code includes some rather crappy areas. I agree that they should designate whether or not the offense was directed toward a child.
My wife is very protective of our little guy but I don't want to be so afraid to let him be a boy. Only one name on the list in our area mentioned children and it was a woman. I don't in any way condone violence against women but having a 17 year old GF when you are 18 is a very different situation than being a sick MFing criminal. Sorry about that, but this subject just pi$$es me off to no end.

There have been three in the past few years - girl in North Tampa, now the one in Brandon - and a year or so ago in Bradenton. All knew or lived in close proximity to their victims. I've got two girls - and looked up every offender in the system.
Fair to the folks in the database (for an infraction that may not have anything to do with where they are now in their life) probably not - do I care - probably not. But I will do what I can to keep my kids safe.

All you guys cant talk.... i just realized a guy who help'ed weld my 02 bung onto my BAE setup is on there...
