my son lost his face

My boy will be 2 next month.

His first word was "car".

All he does is play with toy cars.

Took him for his 1st ride in the 911 today.

I looked over at him and he had a s__t eatin grin so big I swear his face disappeared.

Another addict in the making.

Scott

My husband had a similar experience with our sons, Now they love to go for rides in daddy's little yellow car.

My daughter was 3 when my car was last on the road, and she so loved going for rides with me.

Even now that its almost two years later she still always asks me when we will get to ride in it again.

It will get even better as the years go bye.

I surprised Max today by picking him up at school. Normally Lisa does but today I was in que, top off, Bob Sieger blasting. He, the teachers and about 50 other K-graders marched out. He saw me and started jumping up and down. The other kids all ran over. Thing is, every car in that lot was a SUV or Minvan.

"This is a Porsche! Ain't it cool!" he proclaimed. The kids all had gott'n a big kick out of it. Max felt like the coolest K-grader. Worth it all...

I can't wait for Wyatts first ride in the 911... It must have been as exciting for you as it was for your son! I know it will be for me!

Here's Wyatt "driving" (Sorry for a hijack, I'm a PROUD DADDY too. )

The beauty of an airbag free 911/930 is being able to have your small child ride up front with you.

As an aside, About 4 years ago I took my 15year - old -at the time- stepson (by law only, he's mine as far as I'm concerned) out in the 944. He had been practicing driving in mom's car with an automatic, so he had the driving thing down pretty good. I figure every man needs to know how to drive a stick, so I find a deserted paved road out in the country, pull over, and park. I told him to swap me seats, it was his turn to drive. He got the biggest ****-eating grin on his face, and it stayed for days. He drove about 10 miles that day, and really impressed me, so I let him drive it home and park it.

I find out later that he had been driving with his real dad in his stick shift truck for about a month before I let him drive the P-car. The little snot never said a word to me about it! I figure he'll do well in college being able to think like that.

Owned by a 15 year old!

Hijack away, that's a fine looking young man you have there. Congrats to you and your wife.

stomachmonkey: I just showed my wife your post, and her response was simply, "No children for you!"

Very cool - as they get older they can spot other P-cars - "Hey dad - look - another Porsche!" Chris - need to start that boy early...

Why make your kid wait? Go ahead and buy him one of these bad boys. I wonder if people take out insurance on those. I wouldn't trust my kid with a 10K toy. I think it would be a better investment to go ahead and buy your kid a nice SC and prep it and care for it until your kid is old enough to drive it.

My son is now 1 week old! I can't wait to take him for his first ride. He has a need for speed, the only thing that keeps him quiet is riding in his stroller or the other cars.

I'm sure if he could tell the difference between the cars (or could talk) he would ask for a ride in the Porsche.
