Anybody Know of Any Entry Level Marketing Jobs?
My brother in law graduates from Kansas State with his bachelor's in Marketing next weekend, I'm trying to help him find a job. I think he'd prefer the midwest, but for the right job he'd probably travel. He had a job lined up in the JC Penney's corporate office in Dallas, but the lady that he had been dealing with left, so it ended up falling through. Anyway, any leads would be helpful, thanks.

Matt, getting a marketing job is kinda like getting a job as a commercial artist. Sometimes you have to start at the bottom of the barrel at a corporation. That means receptionist, janitor, etc. I know this sounds crazy, but that is how some big companies, for example Hallmark Cards there in KC operates.

Kurt, that's why I am, ahem, skeptical about his future in marketing. We did some internet job searches, and it seems like 90% of the marketing jobs are essentially traveling salesmen, or "public relations specialists" as in Thom's picture. At least I have an idea of what I'll qualify for when I graduate as an engineer.
