Where to Stay in Monterey?
At the end of next month the family and I are heading to Monterey and the coast for a few days and then over to Yosemite for a week or so. Can anyone suggest a good place to stay in or around Monterey. There will be 5 of us, 3 kids ages 10-14. Thanks!

Are you looking for a hotel recommendation? I have some of those, we go to Monterey quite often.
I like this place http://www.lhls.com/lodge.htm Lighthouse Lodge, has suites as well as regular rooms, nice breakfast building (for the suites anyway). in a beautiful area (Pacific Grove) And this place http://www.hotelpacific.com/ in central Monterey, a compact little place, convenient and comfortable. There are a pair of junior suites on the lower level, 102 and 101 I think, that connect. If you want to spend more, http://www.woodsidehotels.com/monterey/monte_home.htm Monterey Plaza Hotel is very nice

The Hyatt is very nice too, but watch where you park, especially if you drive a black audi wagon.

Tom,
We usually stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. It is just down the street from the aquarioum and near Fishermans Wharf. There is a really nice walking/biking path running along the water that goes right by the hotel. The dining area looks out over the bay and you can usually see sea otters and seals during your meals. Good luck. Joe PS I think I have your old 73 911T. |

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'll look into them.
Chillin- talk to me! How is the old car? It was a great car for me! It was problem free fun driving for many years. Send me a few pics when you get a chance. Thanks!

Tom,
The car has been great. We did a valve job and rings just after we bought it from Wayne and have all the parts to do a suspension rebuild (Elephant bushings front and rear, T-bars front and rear, rear adjustable spring plates). I upgraded to 16 inch wheels last year. The car has run like a champ. We took it down to Hershey this year and had a blast. Here is a picture of it last winter in the barn. It looks great! Those wheels do a lot for it. Did you put on the H4 headlights or did Wayne?

I changed the lights. We also changed all of the lenses back over the black trimmed ones. Wayne had a backdated look going with chrome horn grilles, silver trimmed lenses and silver rear grille. Wayne had also taken care of any rust issues. All in all, we are very happy with the car. I have all of your old receipts as well as the ones you passed on to Wayne.
