Got home late Sunday night from a trip to a place called Orange, about 5 1/2 hrs drive from home. Went visiting some relatives, one of whom is not well. Anyway, long story short, just finished washing the car to find that at some stage on the way home, someone has decided to swip all 4 chrome dust covers and stem covers off the tyres. Now I know it's not a huge deal & dosn't compare to getting a car keyed, but this is now the sixth time I've had a car vandalised in some way (including keyed, hole gouged in door with a screw driver and side of car tagged).
I'm reminded of the line in pulp fiction along the lines of it being worth them doing it just so I could catch them doing it. AAAAhhhh. Sometimes I wonder if sterilisation could be a good option for some members of society. End rant.

Stuff like that sucks. I had the cheapo plastic hubcaps yanked off my jetta not long ago. Then a couple weeks later my antenna went missing and it looked like someone tried to take off the front bumper as well.
Happy ending though, turned out it was the same guy every time and I CAUGHT HIM!!! Came home pretty late from a buddies house, 4am or so and this guy is just leaning on my car acting like its his so I set off the alarm with the key and we chased him down. Sometimes there is sweet justice in the world.

Heck, some guys just got let off for killing a guy they caught trying to steal their vintage Chevy muscle car here in Seattle. They put the thief in a choke hold, he went unconscious, fell into a coma and died several days later in the hospital. Judge ruled that the car owner was justified in protecting his property.

Darryl - was the car in the owner's driveway or on his yard or something?

Buy them, sell them

Damn. I pray that the next time this happens to me, I actually get to catch the bastards in the act. I once had my BMW 535i vandalized. The punk who did it, had picked up a rock and just dragged it from headlamp to taillamp, all down the side. A buddy of his caved under my "interview" method and spilled his guts. As the kid responsible was only 16 and his parents couldn't pay (on welfare
![]() I wouldn't care if it's not the same kid - he's sure to have it coming - these stupid ****s are creatures of habit. What other kind of idiot keeps coming back to the same crime scene, to do the same stuff to the same car, night after night? ![]() Glad it wasn't worse, Gav.

yep, could have been a whole lot worse. Funny thing is when one of my other cars was 'tagged' I went to the police station as it was tagged with the name of a local group of ****s. Anyway, the seargant on duty actually said to me, look mate it's probably easier if you deal with it yourself if you catch them. A lot of them are too young for us to do much. Needless to say I've kept that in mind and would gladly do likewise if I was to see anyone trashing anyone elses car. And I'm pretty much the same as you Adam - 6 events stored up and ready for the unlucky sob that gets caught out.

Semper drive!
|
Several years ago, a friend of mine told me this story.
Seems he was detailing his motorcycle in the parking lot of his apartment complex on a Saturday morning. A neighbor, who happend to be a pretty large man, strolled by on his way out to his car. They exchanged morning pleasantries and the big guy was on his way to his car which was parked a little ways down the parking lot. A minutes or two after the big guy left, my friend heard this loud, blood curdling scream. He ran in the direction of the scream only to find the source of the scream. It seems his big neighbor happened across some 20-something year old guy with his head under the das of Mr. Big's car...feet hanging out of the open door. He was helping himself to Mr. Big's car stereo. Well, this didn't set very well with Mr. Big, so he snuck up on the guy and slammed the car door on the theif's legs. Broke both of them, according to my friend!!! ![]() Justice served quickly often has the sweetest taste! ![]() Randy

Too big to fail

A friend of mine (///Mink here on Pelican) got the front bumper, spoiler and mirrors swiped from his M3 while it was parked in the company lot. They got the bastards on tape even - he got to watch an instant-replay of the incident, but they couldn't ID anyone from it.
