Dear Robbie Gordon from Danica Patrick

Dear Robbie (do grown men actually go by Robbie, I guess in Nascar)

Sorry to hear that you will not race against me until the Indy Racing League changes their rules.
Hang on a second while I get this call. Sorry that was ABC, it seems the rating for the Danica 500 where up over 40% this year because of me, but back to you.
Hang on, sorry again. That was every major sponsor in North America, South America, Asia, Europe calling and asking if it wouldn’t be too much of a problem would I kindly take millions of dollars to wear their patches on my Nomex, but back too you.
So sorry again, one minute. Sorry that was Speed Vision, ABC, NBC, CBS, CBC, Good Morning America, ESPN 1,2 and 3,The Golf Channel, Home Shopping Network and every other television station in the world asking for an interview, but back to you.
I looked up how many laps you led the Indy in your Rookie try then how many laps you have led total, Oh crap the phone again. Sorry that was Mr Letterman. I won’t even go into what he wanted!
Well I better rap this up before the phone rings again.
I look forward to racing you sometime in the future. If not the IRL then perhaps in a few years in Formula 1.
Until that time....
I will try as hard as I can to live up to your expectations. I can only dream of the time I might, might if I’m lucky, get to race a driver of your accomplishments. I can only dream that when I reach your age I am as respected and admired by my peers as you are.
In the mean time maybe, just maybe, you could shut the f#$k up and do your talking on the track! You remember it’s that thing where your are supposed to turn left and go fast.
Oh, if you see the checkered flag first it means you win.
Danica

Did I miss something in particular, or is this just a typical nascar jab?

Not really.
It's just that I worked for Robbies dad when Robbie was a snot nosed kid and his father was one of the richest men in California. Robbie came by the set several times and was not nice to everyone. Robbie had everything a young up and coming racer could ask for and still was a pri@k to everyone who came within ear shot of him.
His constant complaining about everything but his ability to win drives me nuts. Just take your inheritence and go away already.
Steve

Robbie Gordon refuses to race against Danica Patrick because he believes her weight (100lbs) gives her an advantage over his 200lbs. He wants IRL to impose weight limits for the car and driver. He also believes she is not particularly fast just lighter and therfore has better power:weight ratio.

Bet he could save 100 lbs if he cut off his head. He certainly speaks as if it full of something other than brain.

Give that bastard a bowl of bran flakes and he'll lose that 100 lbs. easy.

It never ceases to amaze me how arrogant these Nascar drivers can be. I had a run in with Strelin Marlin. Check search the archives.

Anyone who feels that racing is driving around in a circle (or oval) is racing needs help anyway. They have a crash about every 3-4 laps then drive behind the pace car. Do not race in the rain then ***** and moan about how hard life is for them.

This world could get by very well without Crashcar....

I think the "arrogance" applies to some but not all.

1.) Not a NASCAR fan, but I do grant them a lot of respect after drivng a couple of "parade" laps at Rennsport Reunion last year.

2.) Used to be a little hole-in-the-wall Italian place here that was everyone's secret place for a great mean. We would see all the NASCAR guys there. Sat back to back with Earnhart one night. He and JR were as nice as they could be. Same with Jeff Gordon and of course Joe Gibbs. Still see JR at a BBQ place driving his Mini S.

While I do have respect for folks who can turn ~200mph laps for 500 or so miles, NASCAR has turned into a Soap Opera for redneck men.

Robbie Gordon's comments about IRL and Danica is just the latest proof of this.

-Z.

PS: Not that there is anything wrong with Soap Operas or redneck men...

Z, I completely agree with your comments about NASCAR in general and Robbie Gordon in particular. My point was don't paint all of them as arrogant jerks as Terry seemed to apply.

Halm: Agreed. There are some terrific drivers in NASCAR -- remember the Jeff Gordon / Montoya experiement where they two switched cars for some hot laps? Gordon came away with that program with a lot of respect for Montoya. (I think it was Montoya)

I apologize for the glazed all inclusive statement. I have heard alot of stories from people who have met Nascar driver and it seems to be the consensus. Doesn't mean there true. I'm sure there are nice drivers out there.

How can you be called a racer car driver if you only have 4 turns on the track, lol.

Hey, at least they turn! Seems that the drag racer boys can't even handle 4 turns!

"Fo Shizzle--- get yo JDM a$#$@ in your Hondah. Revv it to kingdom come, and when the light turns green, smack the throttle down. Don't get on the juice too early -- otherwise you waste all that NAAWWS. Keep it pointing straight. If you get to the finish before the other guy, I'll get you the body kit and altezza lights you wanted so bad bro. Oh, and I need to have the car back by 8pm -- momma needs it to buy this week's groceries. And take that rear wing off when you're finished...."

Ducking for cover...

that's so fekkin' pathetic.... take off the skirt, reach between your legs, and see if you've got any balls, you pu__y, (I mean, Robbie....) making excuses for not running in an "unfair" race... I'd be embarassed to admit such a thing.

And he calls himself a man???

Better yet, why don't you do it better and hire a dwarf to drive the car, if you think that will make your car faster.

Or do what every other HUNGRY driver in the world does-- get in shape you turd!

You think anyone in F1 cries like that b/c another car has 1000 more rpm and 70 more hp??? They would laugh you out of the sport for such pettyness.

(ok, I'm better now. thanks.)

This whole thing seems silly to me...

I mean really... If a 100lb. girl can handle a open wheel, more power to her...
