When I was 18 I was pulled over around 11pm for speeding (45mph in 30, it was a 1973 Land Rover 88) and the girl with me started crying and getting hysterical. I was digging around the door pocket for registration and telling her to calm down. The officer came up and saw my movements and heard the girl crying. Her drew his weapon and shouted some instruction that I IMMEDIATELY heeded. I almost crapped myself. He took me into his vehicle’s front seat and gave me a dressing down. Not threatening or demeaning, just a thorough explanation of everything I did wrong. He went back to the truck and spoke to the girl and insured she was ok. Gave me a warning and suggested we go home.
I’ve done things a LOT differently over the years and NEVER had a problem with the police. That woman got exactly what she earned. Driving on suspended license (disregard for the law) Speeding (disregard for the law) Ignoring officer instruction several times (disrespect) Attempting to strike an officer I wonder if she had been drinking as well. |
I saw this on the evening new a couple of days ago. I commented to my wife that the woman was stupid. You have to know your license is suspended. If you get pulled over you are looking at big trouble. I should know....
I got pulled over a few weeks back. I knew I had a suspended license. Somehow it was reported to the State that my MINI had no insurance which was wrong. I had to go to the DMV and show the paperwork. I didn't want to go because the DMV is a nighmare so I was procrastinating. I took a corner off of one major road onto another very fast in my RX-7. An unmarked car was nearby and pulled me over. I knew I was screwed. I was as polite as possible to the cop and asked what was up. He had already run my plate and informed me I had a suspended license. I told him I knew there was a problem but I was unaware it was already suspended. I told him about my insurance yada yada.... He took my license and the tag off my RX-7. Told me to get a ride home and have the car towed home as well. He gave me 2 fix it tickets for no proof of insurance and no registration and let me go. If I had been an ass to him he could have arrested me and impounded my car. The FIRST words out of that womans mouth was that the cop pulled her over because he was a racist. She was an idiot from the get go. The Boyton police made sure to use a black guy as a spolesman on the evening news to explain the officer did as he was trained to do. Avoid a physical confrontation and subdue the driver. I am sure this will become a lawsuit and another idiot will be rewarded for being stupid. |

Once tassed (twice) The cops really should have kicked the crap out of her, and then rubbed her face in it. Cops have to inforce their omni-present Supreme power or authority, after all. |
 A few years back a woman pulled the same crap as this one, only she put the car in gear and rammed his cruiser, tryibg to run him down, another cop showed up, she rammed him to, then tried to run over the officer who had jumped onto his cruiser, but fell off, the other had no choice but to shoot her dead. Of course the local liberal went crazy (well most are already crazy) but she was doing this at a mall and could have hurt other people.
If you don't want to get shot or tazed, don't break the law and if you get pulled do as you are told, pretty simple isn't it. |
Too bad tasers don't sterilize people...

WAITAMINUTE! Was that sarcasm? Facetiousness? D'oh!;) |
This reminds me of the BS "respect my authority trooper" in Meet the Fockers. :D Power trippin'!
It is a sad and scary thought that some people who barely got through high school have the authority to use weapons on the public at their discretion. http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_56314.html Quote:
Like Rallyjon and Moses said, there is a time to use excessive force with a taser, night stick, battering ram, thunder sledge, etc. However I don't see an excuse to use any of those tools in this case. Aside from acting like a b!tch, I couldn't see anything really threatening in her behavior. What if that was your mother, sister, wife, or girlfriend who just had a crappy day? How would you feel then? |
LOL, Don.
Yeah, I debated whether to include the rolly-eyes. (glad it was overt enough);) My only point is it's a fine balance for our cops. She may have been inviting a nasty responce from the cop(s), but really; who is supposed to be professional here.? . ..the idiot woman, or the "trained proffesional'? While we're all just MMQB'ing here, it's not good to just say it's okay for cops to zap people into convulsive submission for their dissmisive behaivor. |

The old wisdom was; "Act like as ass, and I'll write you up for everything possible." Now it's "Act like an ass and I'll sear your central nervous system and watch you crap your pants." Beautiful. And remember, this is all about a suspended license. |

I'm glad she got nailed; maybe it will keep a little one from getting run down and spare someone a lot of pain. And after the inital yelp when she got tazed, it just went on and on like a bad porno, all the screaming just done for the camera. |
Exactly! (and said much better :D )

What next? ....Cop:"He failed to signal; and when I got the Porsche-driving, anti-signalite pulled-over, he sneared at me from his snooty little sports car.. ." ....zZAPPPP!!!! This is a very bad slippery slope to be on. |

Florida has had 17 Tazer related deaths since 2000. |
Well, I got pulled over Sunday nigh for having a head light out, and it turned out a brake light (cracked 964 lamp, corroded connection, new pair just came in from Fed-ex) Now, being a holiday weekend he could have been a dick, but I was polite, did as instructed and made sure my hands stayed in plain sight. I got a fix-it ticket for the head light and was on my way. Funny, I hit a bump and the head light came back on:rolleyes:
As stated, a car can be a weapon, so what would you do if you were in the Policeman's shoes?? I would like to hear from those who protect & serve have to say?? |
A question for the nay sayers: What would you have done? Just get back in your cop car and leave because she obviously doesn't have time for you right now? Continue to plead with her and cajole her into cooporation? For how long? Give me a break. She broke the law; it his his job to stop her and talk to her about that, and possibly to ticket or arrest her. He gave her every reasonable chance to cooporate. You are all great Monday morning quarterbacks, but seriously, what would you have done?

All could have been avoided if they hadn't been been breaking the law and followed instructions. You forget to mention the fact that those who died had large amounts of drugs in their systems. FL. is better off without them. Break into my home, I shoot you dead, no if ands or buts, those 17 made the choices that cost them their lives and they paid dearly for them. |

Just out of curiosity, how many vehicular deaths in Fla due to things like Cell Phones, alcohol, drugs?
It just got me to thinking...Getting potentially dangerous distracted and highly excitable people off the road might just save some innocent lives a few minutes later. |
Kill'em . . kill'em all. MUHAhahahaha [/crazed loon]
& my maama always sayz; simple is as simple duz [/gump] |
