Grades aren't something I'm going to hold against anyone (except my son of course) - especially considering my own when I was younger

Both came from wealthy families. What was their incentive to get good grades-a good job? They were both just average students.

A friend of mine's dad went to school with both of them. This article is an interesting perspective comparing the two.

http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2004/Aug/02/ln/ln09a.html I think he pulled some punches with both of them for the sake of being kind. My impression from my friend is that Kerry was bright, hard working and ambitious, but a bit of an ass. Bush was the guy you would rather party with, but don't ask him for help on your homework. ![]() -bernie

Bush was a fun guy in a frat house way I'm guessing, (probably had the best drugs as well), but like Bernie said, you wouldn't want him on your quiz-bowl team. Still wouldn't.

Kerry graduated in 1966, Bush in 1968. Yale came recruiting some of us to come as a freshman in 1967, but my parents couldn't afford that. I guess I missed the party boat. darn

''I always told my Dad that D stood for distinction,"

I always felt a "D" grade stood for "dumbass", "C" stood for "Just as good as all the other dummies in class" and "B" stood for "Just Barely above a C grade" I was always very hard on myself in school and just eeked out an 89 average for my four years.
