my new cruiser

I'm picking this up tomorrow if I can find someone to drive it home for me. 1962 Oldsmobile Super 88. 60,000 miles, original paint, interior (except for new seat inserts) 394ci, 300 hp, auto, p/s, a/c, pb. New tires, rims, brakes, front suspension, exhaust system, no rust, no dents. it was found covered in dust in an old barn a few years ago. it's not perfect, but in great shape for an almost all original 43 yr old car.

What a great car! How much did you get her for? What color is that? Seafoam?

I found the no side mirrors unusual also. no holes where there should be any though. I have a box of assorted 60's mirrors if it should have them. the guy was asking 6500, went down to 5500 a few weeks ago. I offered 4500 after driving it and he accepted it. accepted it too easily, I could have got it for less I think. I've seen them online from $7000 in okay shape to $31,000 all original. not sure on the color. there's a few spots the paint is thin and a slight rust film. but no rust outs. looks great from a few feet away though. the interior is almost perfect. and he's got the original rims also.

What a tow car this would make for a historic racer!

Man oh man. I had one exactly like that in high school. Not the Mayflower but it brought many girl across. I got mine in 1970. It was strictly a premium fuel car. If you put anything less it pinged like a *****. Retarded the ignition, not good, put electronic ignition on it etc. Sold it in 75. It has the funky bar speedo doesn't it?

when test driving it, it took a second or two to find out how fast I was driving. I had never seen a speed indicator like that before. I was wondering what the orange bar was for before I realized that was it. I own a 60 El Camino that needs resto. That is the ultimate tow car. I also have a 60 Belair I'm trying to give away and a 60 Impala someone gave me I haven't picked up yet.
