You need a nutritionist not a trainer.

My wife could / Should be a Trainer / Nutritionist. She has competed in BB competitions. She did a lot of studying while training and learned a lot.

She is always yelling at me to eat right. Try watching what you eat limiting carbs (not cutting them out they are needed if you want your internal organs to stay with you) and eating 5 small meals a day. You will be amazed at the changes in 4 weeks.

My wife used this site for inspiration and information.

Good luck

As mentioned above changing the eating habits makes a big difference. Three cardio sessions a week will strip the rest off. Lean & mean in a few months if you do3 x 50 minute sessions a week. Easy right

The personal trainers that I see at my gym are more like captive audiences that are forced to listen to their client's day to day problems. Exercise isn't exactly complicated, at least not to the point that you have to "train" for great lengths to master it. Of course you need to do things correctly, but after that, its up to you and your motivation. As far as getting leaner, thats 95% your diet. When I run 4-5 miles, I burn maybe 600-700 calories (about 1 sandwich). The exercise is for your cardiovascular system, not weight loss. Start small, like no more food after 9:00.

If what you mean by "personal trainer" is like, a hooker, then yes.
If not, then no.

I paid for one for a few months. It was 'good' in the sense that it jump-started my workouts after a hiatus, but it didn't teach me much.

I just felt obligated to go once I had paid 75 bucks a session. And he did push me for a few extra reps, etc

But now I'm fat again. And poor, too

Never needed a trainer, but after meeting you I can see that you do!! OK, all kidding aside, subscribe to muscle and fitness. All the nutritional information you'll ever need is there. On their website, too. I must say, that after a wonderful vacation, today is the first day back on my program. Like an idiot I wait until it gets hot to work out. I am soooo looking forward to it,,,,NOT!

check out bodyforlife.com a bodybuilder friend of mine turned me on to this program. Easy to follow for someone that wants to be healthy and doesn't have all day to devote to it. I went from a 35" waist to a 32" inch waist and dropped only a few pounds.( Dropped fat not muscle.)
