computer speakers
i'm a music fanatic. despite the nice home system i have, i spend FAR more time listening to music right here in front of my pc.
these are pretty nice (logitech Z-5500 5.1 surround sound): http://www.logitech.com/lang/images/0/5017.jpg my friends say they are too pricey....then they come over and i rattle the windows in my computer room. that usually justifies my investment. j.j. cale is sounding really nice right now. |
I have a set of Logitech Z-680 5.1 speakers (no longer listed but the same specks as your system with the same controller).
500w of power usually shuts the nay sayers up ;) If someone needed a cheep home theatre system for their TV then I would recommend the Logitech systems |
Biggest issue I have for 5.1 and computers is where the h*ll do you put the rear speakers. Most of my computing is done in a living room/office and there is no way that I can hide them. Doesn't mean I don't want them.

I have my rear speakers stuck under the table on each side and it's quite an effective location for making them sound like their behind me.
|
I have some Jamo 2-ways and a 10" amplified sub...conventional PC speakers suck.
|
my rear speakers are mounted on the wall. the 'feet' on all the speakers are designed such that this can be done VERY easily.
