A true gentleman. I wouldn't want to eat in his 5 star restruant and hear that banter coming from the open kitchen.

I can go to Denny's for that.

I can watch American Hot Rod or American Chopper and at least get to see some decent vehicles while listening to all the cussing and fussing.

My best friend is an "ex-chef" and he loves the show!

I've worked in some fine dining rooms in San Diego and believe me the experience is VERY MUCH like the show. It's a super high stress environment and the people working the line are tough as nails. We were especially hard on the newbies and would bet money on who would crack during the first week. I've seen grown men leave in tears. It's brutal, but the perks are there if you manage to perform in that type of setting.

When I was in junior high school {middle school now}..lol I helped a friend wash dishes in one of those high stress type of restaurants. I remember all the yelling in the kitchen and I kept thinking is everyone here nuts. They even yelled at me and my buddy for not washing dishes fast enough. I was thinking to myself " spend some money on more dishes and you wont be so stressed". I smelled like stink when I left too, as it was a Yugoslavian restaurant.

I liked the way he told the one customer that complained about the service last night to "lose some weight". Haha!

My wife loves the show and I only watch it because she loves it. I am an idiot when it comes to cooking and I just can't seem to relate.
