looking for links to all of the stuff he talked about. Basically, though, there was a massive illegal immigration surge after Bush's speech about immigration, and a memo was given to border patrol saying "do not talk about this."

I want details... immigration is one area where I think Bush is making serious mistakes.

Unfortunately, the Dems do not hold the high ground here. There isn't an RCH worth of difference between the two parties' stances on immigration.

When are we going to admit to ourselves that our economy needs sub-minimum wage labor to function?

Why don't we have a legitimate guest-worker program, collect taxes on these wages, and declare that minimum wage only applies to U.S. citizens?

My main contention with illegal immigration we don't know who is really here. I have no problem with the people who come nor the jobs they do.

I spend time in many different factories and work with many large construction companies. If it were not for this cheap labor farce the cost of goods and services would skyrocket!

I am not agreeing with it but when given the choice, the maojority of companies would love to hire legal citizens but they just can afford to do so and keep the operating and profit margins.

Player Piano boys! Slaves were replaced by machines then machines can only get you so far. Like a war, troops are needed on the ground...untill we get our 'droan' warriors up to spend and our production automation evoling into the next generation of technology, manual labor will be furnished by low cost labor.
