Talking Ebbers gets 25 years

In a federal pound me in the ass prison.

This guy ruined so many peoples lives and I cannot begin to express how happy I am to see this come down on him!!!

I am in the telecom industry and although I never worked for MCI/Worldcom, Ebbers still affected me and my crew in a negative way. Now I can smile when I think of 10 gangbangers going after him.

What a good day this turned out to be.

Kyle

My wife worked for Worldcom and he almost stole her retirement. Good thing she was smart about it and moved her money out of Worldcom stock way before it tanked. My sister-in-law on the other hand didn't. Twenty years of contributing to her 401 and all her stock options, phhht, gone.

Fantastic. Maybe the tide is turning against the white collar thieves. Hope so.

He deserves every year of jail time and plenty of mistreatment while there..

It is funny how how worldcom had to merge with MCI. Two thieving companies built on cooking the books. Not only were their own empoyees bamboozled - but ligit companies like AT&T had jump through hoops to keep up with them.

Who is next to come crashing down?

Let's see if form holds true for Kenneth Lay.

Who said Canadians were all nice guys? I hereby disown him on behalf of all of us.

I'll bet he was buggering neighbourhood children when he started his career as a milk man in Edmonton.

May he and his like rot in hell....

Absolutely!

Best part is he wants his sentence reduced because he used to do some "good deeds" - he even cried!

If I had $45 million in ill-gotten assets, I might donate a few bucks here and there as well. His purported good deeds were, I believe, greatly offset by his big greed. I'm sorry he has to spend the rest of his life behind bars, but his criminal activities lost billions and affected thousands of lives.

Life support might extend the time he has to suffer for his sins....

He is one of the reasons that "private accounts" will not always be the answer. How about the folks who invested in Worldcom or had their pensions/401ks invested in Worldcom? Sorta like Enron...

The tide is turning, methinks...if crime is your bag, one is better off being a white/black aging rock star or a former NFL great when it comes to courtrooms...
