Your are trying to get to sleep as a kid, you open your eyes and see little gray men marching through your bedroom walls......................do you call for help from God?
Do you call for help from the Ghost that haunt your room? Do you call for your parents who will be angy you woke them up? It's a no win situation, but nobody's getting my tooth fairy money without a fight - I'll tell you that much. ![]()

SoCal:
I have pondered this very thing quite a bit. Here is my reasoning that ties the two concepts together. Keep in mind that my assumptions here are based on my Judeo-Christian beliefs: What if God created another set of Adam and Eve on a different planet across the universe? It is quite possible. Anyway, perhaps this Adam and Eve did not fall to the temptation of sin, but lived their lives in harmony with God. Now if these folks were without sin, that would imply that sin didn't slow them down in terms of development. IE: they would have the ability to develop superior technology, provided they've been around for about the same time we've been. This implies that perhaps they do have the ability to travel great distances over the vast reaches of space. Which would explain why they can come here, and we can't go there. One other thing - if they are sinless, perhaps God is preventing them from actually interacting with us - in order to keep sin from them. Well, that's my theory. -Z.

There's alot more evidence for the existence of UFOs than for the existence of god(s). For people who don't believe in the Christian god (most of the people on Earth), the answers to your questions are really simple.

God is omnipotent...right...or he wouldn't be God....Anyway if God is Omnipotent he can have evolution, UFO;s or any fking thing he wants...
Just because the Bible says it's so, don't mean it is...he who controls the presses controls what ithe content is in the books...beyond that arguemnt...when the Bible was written men thought the earth was flat...an rarely if ever ventured more than 25 miles from home..So their knowledge of the Universe was limited so they made up reasoning for things to be the way they are....Which may not jibe with the knowledge God has given men since the time the Bible was written... Oh I do know how to mollify when I have to....

Pardon me if I've misread this, but it seems you have to separate the two. I don't believe aliens have yet visited us, however in the infinity that is the universe, surely there is other life. I also believe that travel between inhabited planets will or has occurred; just not this one..yet. As for God; if he created heaven and earth in 7 days, he's damn sure had plenty of time to create other earths too. Ever think that this one is the petri dish of green goo that he doesn't want contaminating the others??? |

What will really get the religious-right's panties in a bunch is when they find out that alien "Adam and Eve"s are really "Adam and Steve"s.

Well, if you believe in God in the Christain sense, then you also believe in the Devil.
IIRC, the Devil has every right to tempt us, mislead us lie to us, etc. So, it's entirely possible that Big Foot sightings, Yeti sightings, UFU sightings, etc. are all a test of faith. An attempt by Satan to distract people away from doing Gods will. Chasing ghosts, UFO's, Bigfoots, (Bigfeet?) etc, rather than working toward peace, harmony, goodwill toward others, feeding the starving, preaching the Gospel, etc. Think of how many people's lives are consumed by these searches, with no real benefit toward mankind whatsoever.

You don't need a fast plane to get from A to B more than you need to outrun some guy shooting at you. If they have superior technology, then they have a better balance of war and peace than we do. Which just might mean more peace than we manage/mismanage to have.

Is anyone aware that the closest possible (possible) Galaxy that may (may) have a planet that could (maybe) support life is so far away that it takes hundreds of years for light to reach us from there.
